Just got a hold of a bottle of Field Of Dreams. It's made from corn from the actual field in Iowa. Comes in a numbered bottle. Not even sure I want to open it. - PeteM
So buy another bottle and save the one you have. You gotta try it? no?

Horvat wasn't on the ice for that goal. You may be thinking about Pageau, who was the closest Islander. That said, I dont think there was any way the ref didn't see it. I just replayed the goal and it was completely obvious.
From Lambert when asked if there may have been a trip:
"I don't think there might have been a trip. It's very clear there was a trip on that play. That play should have been called dead - keaner17[...] It should have been a penalty."
You are correct it was not Horvat. I was not saying it was not a trip only giving you what I saw from the camera angle from behind the net and placement of the ref.
Trust me I was screaming at the tv.

I agree on lane but sorokin stunk tonight - Upstate_isles
Sorokin had an off night. He still made some really good saves at critical points in the game.

9-1-5 in their last 15. If only they could get back some of that ability to close from a few years back. |

They were clearly spent after last night. They made a game of it but had nothing left for the last 5 minutes |

Agreed.
Played a lot of hockey here lately. They get a couple days off to refresh and get back to it. |

Wow we suck ass tonight. - nyisles7
Slow start really hurt them tonight. It would have been a lot worse had Varly not had his head in the game.
I get the offensive side of the game. I am happy to see that they have been putting numbers up, but you cannot forget about the defensive side. Especially in your own end. Guys are missing their assignments. No way a guy should be that open in the slot like he is at a puck shoot.

If they can tighten up in their own end. They might be able to gain momentum. It appears the line combinations are starting to gel. Now they need to give Varly and Sorokin some help. Just think of where they could be in standing if they won half of those overtime loses.
I could see Parise after the first of the year. He would definitely help the PK. I glad to Holstrom playing with confidence. That shootout goal was vintage Frans.
While it is the holiday season, I am beginning to believe again.
Still not a fan of Lane. |

Holmstrom has been a great asset this year for sure.
Be interesting to see what JGP, Holmy, and Parise could do together. If Parise were to come and that line gels (Parise and JGP have in the past) they would have 3 lines that can be a threat.
You have to think that if the Islanders want to add Parise, Lou has the upper hand on the rest of the pack.
As you said if they can tighten up their play on the D side they could make some noise. If they want to make some noise in the PO’s they better start to play D and straighten out their PK. I’m still not enamored with Lane and wanted his head. That said they have been on a good run. Yes could have been better but hopefully they tighten up the d side. |

That could be a nice line with some speed.
You would think Lou has the inside track, but it is not a sure thing until he is on the bench.
Definitely been some exciting hockey to watch. It would be nice to see them put some distance with the lower half of the conference, so they do not feel like every night is a playoff game.

I think that line might work out nicely. Let’s see if Parise truly wants to play again.
I would like to see some defensive cohesiveness in their own zone for one and then the PK needs to get much better. If they can just improve these 2 negatives I would have a much easier time watching. I can’t take the emotional roller coaster game in and game out. |
