When Pelech comes back they need to shed salary. Who goes? |

I like Gauthier too, his speed is an element they don't have a ton of. Minor complaint, but he seems to have an odd thing where he takes some really stupid icings.
At this point I'd probably lean Gauthier too, but Parise's 21g last year are tough to ignore also. If Parise comes back I may change my tune on Wahlstrom sticking around much longer - eichiefs9
21 goals....... take him everyday and he was great last year on pk and didn't look like he had lost a step |

It certainly doesn't make him look any better. In 17 games, he has 2 goals, 3 assists and is -5. He often looks lost defensively in his own zone.......and then the opponent scores. It's too bad, because he occasionally shows some talent on offense, but I don't see him getting back in, unless there's an injury or the team sputters.

He's just never stood out to the point that he earned continued consideration. It's crazy, since the kid came into this league with wicket talent and potential. Is it him or was it the program? Who knows, but at this stage Holmstrom has seemingly taken the next step while Wally has actually regressed the past couple of years. I think he's a toss in on a trade at this stage

As I mentioned on the prior page, if both Pulock and Pelech return, they suddenly have a logjam and some decisions to make. It's a small sample, but I feel much better with Bortuzzo and Reilly than Aho and Mayfield at this stage. We obviously can't/won't move Scott, so it certainly poses an interesting dilemma

Unfortunately I see Wahlstrom going the way of many other draft pick busts. Everyone’s still waiting on him to consistently take the next step. IMO I don’t see it happening.

Probably right but we all thought the same about Holmstrom to a much larger degree not long ago.
I said before this season started we needed Dobson and or Wahlstrom to take big steps this season to have a shot at being successful. Dobson seems to have done exactly that while Wahlstrom has not. I wasn’t even factoring Holmstrom doing anything. I had zero faith in the kid in all honesty. Happy he seems to have proven me wrong. |

I’ve always liked Holmstrom as he always had a good combo of speed and skill. Happy to see him succeeding and making the most of his opportunity. Wahlstroms skating has been an issue and I don’t know what the difference between their success is, other than ones turning the corner and one isn’t. Being that this is a results business it appears Wahlstrom is the odd man out.
As for Dobson he’s turning into the stud that he was advertised. I think he’s a legitimate perennial norris candidate in the next few years. He’s got it

It would have to be more than that. They'll only dress six. So someone else has to sit as well
