I do agree that he should move on. It's weird to be a fan of a team and never be happy about being a fan of that team.

It's not like converting religion. It's simply a superficial thing that, in the grand scheme, means nothing.

Change every year, but why stay and be unhappy

I guess certain purists will argue that converting to a different/better team is considered as "cheating" but yeah I agree 100%. as I was saying the other day it's literally a game, and like the players playing it we're supposed to also be having fun too as fans imho, so if it isn't the case why not switch it up.

The people who see sports fandom as marriages are sick. Want to watch your team on TV? You need to pay? You want to show your support? Need to pay. Go see your team? Need to pay. They owe us, not the other way around.

If there's a TV show you like , but start to hate then you start not to enjoy watching and look for something else. The cable company gives you poopty service? You switch. Restaurants food starts to suck? You go somewhere else.

People can move on from sports teams too. And guess what? If Montreal wins the cup, they won't question your fandom when you go buy a championship hat at Rousseau

that's one thing I find really sucks about places like TOR and MTL, the quality of the product on the ice hardly needs to be high and they're still making a ton of profit, and there's so much demand that they can sell tickets at (frank)ing insane prices that middle-class folks barely can afford.

When they don't need to worry about our dollar they don't need to show they're worth our dollar.

I get in both cities, NHL is king, but poop, it's just corporate seats used as client giveaways now

I'm aware that Buttman isn't necessarily this evil entity that some portray him to be but I do think that having a new commissioner with a different perspective could do a lot of good. it isn't normal that a representative so central to the NHL gets booed by fans almost everywhere he goes. he's done some good, but I find he's missed a lot of opportunities as well. time to move on, it's been since 93 for (frank)'s sake, same a habs cup damn it.

so according to Forbes the habs' revenue per fan is 60$....

habs-revenue

if someone can explain what "local revenues divided by metro population with populations in two-team markets divided in half" means in layman's terms, that would be great.

I'd say he's been a net positive for the league. However, he is very stubborn, but inconsistent with his stubbornness. I won't debate whether Minnesota, Quebec, Winnipeg and Hartford should have relocated based on the circumstances. Though he seemed, very agitated when he had to move Atlanta even though it was relocating was the only option, and, well, Arizona.

You can't die on a hill for a team who can't draw 4,600 paid, but proclsim arena issues are okay to move the 5 teams you saw relocate

It's a metric based on a small sample size. Assumes everyone in a market is a fan of the markets team.

but more for the owners, no? I get that's who he essentially works for but it would be nice to have someone who thinks more about the fan experience and overall accessibility. if the owners need to make a few million less to charge lower prices to fans while still making millions of dollars in profit, then so be it, that's a win-win.

I guess it's supposed to mean that in the case of a market like NYR, the number will be divided in half because 2 teams are there, but that's poorly worded loll

it was. i saw my twin nephews which is always cool cause i'm a twin.

i am kind of missing my guitars. particularly the bass. i picked them up at kickbro's a couple weekends ago. i still have no idea how to play or anything but i had become fond of picking the bass up and just making weird noises into the little headphone amp. just like little patterns of sounds and buzzes with the distortion thingy switched on.

sounds like you could have fun recording that poop to make various loops and layer them over each other to create different beats or vibes... you don't need to have an impeccable technique to enjoy playing an instrument imho.
