Doesn’t decrease the chance that they’ll win either.
The regression has nothing to do with the age and experience of the roster players added.
The only reason this team has been watchable the season is because of Benson and Peterka lol.
If you can play, you can play. Age is just a number and experience is mostly overrated.
Adding Patty Kane and all of that experience to the Red Wings roster is certainly doing wonders - Swedish_Jesus
The Sabres got younger and got worse this year, that is a fact. Now you are trying to argue that adding more inexperienced skill focused potential (that you claim is talent) won’t hurt them, not even help them. You can try all you want to dispute/spin that, it’s a lot of writing to gain nothing. |

Bills are a lot like the Sabres. Look like the best/worst team in the league on any given night. Catch by Diggs has to be highlight of the night on ESPN - lulags
There's a big difference. The Bills have won big games when they've needed to before. Kevyn and his wardrobe of new clothes has yet to get above the top 50% of the league. |

Nobody thought Patrick Kane was a bad idea because he had too much experience
Nobody wants the sabres to be the oldest team in the league
Just brutal lol |

Correlation does not imply causation, you are smarter than this.
Tage being on pace for half of last years point production has nothing to do with us being a young team.
The Bills changed offensive coordinators and look what that’s done for them. What’s stopping the Sabres ?
The talent is there, we have watched them go into Toronto, Boston, New York, and Vegas in the last month and win convincingly.
Getting healthy and opening up the system to get back to what was working last year solves 70% of what is plaguing this team this year

The team without career seasons from some players finished with 75 points…what are they projected for this season? This team requires career seasons for you to have any foundation to build on. A rookie and sophomore goalie was not an improvement to start this year. |

Jack Eichel this season:
31 games
— 13 goals
— 14 primary assists
— 34 points (#1 in points on #1 team in NHL)
— 34 takeaways (2nd in NHL)
— +14 net penalties (1st in NHL)
2023 proved that Jack's a franchise guy.
The Sabres had more talent than this current roster and didn’t win. |

Expecting a shooting percentage regression was a given.
The teams ability to drive offence all together completely falling off a cliff to try to defend better ? That’s on coaching.

This is confusing because if the players that were added were better, than with there experience it could have lessened that regression. I will give you if you can play you can play but it they had added some real quality veterans could have really helped this year. |

Yes, if they added a bonafide top 4 d-man that could make our team better im all for it.
Whether he’s 20 or 30 years old or whether he does or does not have playoff experience doesn’t matter to me.
Is he a better hockey player then what we have, then that’s what matters |

I don't agree with this, there's problems with Coaching. But obviously when they do play the System they have played well and Won. Players need to learn there isn't just a switch you can turn on and off. When they bring there Game they can skate and play with anyone. They just don't do that very Consistently. That's more then just Coaching! That's Leadership and having the Heart to bring it for 60min. |

Of course you want better than your replacing and doesn't matter how old he is if he's better. Doesn't change the fact a grizzled vet can't help a young Roster navigate things they never did or show them what it takes on and off the ice to even make it to the show. |

Much has been made of the young team and the need for veteran leadership. So when do the likes of Dahlin, Tage, Tuch, Casey, Greenway, Cozens etc become vets and take on the leadership role. Should be now and release the dinosaur leaders so this team can move on. Let some new leaders lead and let some future prospects get some game experience that is being wasted on guys who should be soon kicking a coke can down the road
KA doesn't have the balls to make some hockey moves to help get this team into the playoffs now so he should at least let prospects get icetime to see what they bring to this team. I don't need to see Okposo or even Skinner anymore. Move on |

Wait, you aren't putting them in the skill wins over all else pile?
All you do is claim how skill beats everything.
Oh the irony.
Your shtick about the best roster makes the playoffs proves you wrong in your own post when you mention Pittsburgh. |

Stripes caught this a while back. The theory is they were hockey shovels for a ground breaking ceremony… but it also helps to illustrate there cluelessness of the hockey lol
- Gr8daygo
It's not a theory.
They had custom hockey stick shovels made for the Harbor Center groundbreaking, and they inverted the stick to make it obvious they were hockey sticks as shovels.

Pittsburgh is a 2 line team with a horrendous power play.
Sounds similar to the Sabres. |

What system do they play, that the coach employs?
I can't tell when watching them.
Can you tell?
Can anyone tell?
Looks like they just wing it every night. |

Last year they scored at will and couldn’t get a save if their lives depended on it.
This year they are at 4.31 goals saved above expected and have completely neutered their offence.
Let your offensive players run. Go back to high event hockey, it fits the personnel.

Fantastic!
