Dahlin, Power, Ryan Johnson, Mattias Samuelsson (maybe), Tage, Cozens, Mittelstadt, Peterka, Quinn --- how many more solutions need to come internally before management realizes the composition of the roster, at forward and defense, is lacking what it needs to push the team forward overall?

Conversely, how many washed up vets will we bring in or keep before we learn that's nonsense? The guys you named, outside Sammy, aren't the ones bring this team down. The issues are Eric Johnson, Jeff Skinner (due to contract), Kyle Okposo, Tyson Jost, Victor Olofsson, Zemgus Girgensons, Connor Clifton and Eric Comrie. Replace those guys with real NHLers and we're likely in a playoff spot right now.

Gotta think that the Sabres would have to retain half of his salary to move him. The question is, are they willing to do that?

The contract is so bad he is immoveable without retaining, which we know won't happen...that's a position of strength if I say so.

I dk, Dan mentioned easing him in with the 3rd line, which I liked initially, but given linemates I'm not sure how easy that will be. I'd say it just depends on the docs. My expectations will be minimal until I see how he's skating, but I do think we'll see a better effort with him in the lineup. He seems to be able to exhort effort from the guys somehow.

Is the worst thing about Pegula his refusal to let our GMs weaponize cap space? I mean we're trying to pull out of the rebuild mode now, but we've seen soooo many cap dumps change hands during this drought, it's tough to not feel jealous.

The worst thing is he is required to be involved....and has the hockey intelligence of drunken sloth.

He has thrown money around like a sloppy monkey tosses sh*t. Now he wants to be conservative no matter what.

He is the problem, and the people he hires since firing Botts are all weak, unqualified yes men, allowing them to spend money is more dumb than being conservative. Adams has shown he has no idea how to manage cap, so I don't see any advantage allowing him to do so.
