This is a very underrated point - Hank Balling
You want your young guys to start showing Leadership qualities and then you call them out for doing it. |

I've come around on the fire Granato idea - not because I think this is his fault - but because this season is worth salvaging and it's the easiest way to get a bump.
I still think this team can win when they actually play how he wants them to, because they have beaten good teams, but they won't do that consistently and I guess that's at least somewhat his fault as well - Hank Balling
He constantly fails to optimize his game roster.
Not sure how one who controls than can do so and not be complicit in a major way.
Now, I will also say his complete roster is lacking, that is on Adams.
The Asst Coaches are way, way in over their heads...that is on Donnie.
Lastly, Donnie sucks at in game strategy and tactics...that is completely on him as well.

Like I said, there are 31 teams in the NHL and then there are the Sabres. They don’t care about what the media thinks they should do. |

It’s funny because at some point, everyone around them can not be wrong…. It clearly still won’t sink in. Terry probably still thinks this is a cup contender like he did when he signed Hall… he was delusional then, as he is delusional now and nothing will change until he steps back. |

The good times aren’t always as good as they seem to be.
The bad times aren’t ever as bad as they seem to be.
This season is a complete failure, but the Sabres as an organization still have a top 3 if not higher collection of U25 talent in the entire league.
Both things can/are true and that’s what the most frustrating part about this whole thing is.

And the echl coaching staff will never get that talent to reach it’s full potential of being a consistent contender in this league |

|
Why is Granato still the head coach and why are his useless assistant coaches still here? It has been very apparent that Donnie boy has lost the team and belongs in the minor leagues. I still cannot believe there has not been a coaching change. The Bills fired their offensive coordinator and look what happened. Something needs to be done NOW. WTF!!!! |

Something needed to be done at the beginning of December.
Loyalty and trying to hold on to vibes are bringing the ship down.
Culture is a by-product of winning hockey games, the constant cart before the horse with this franchise always astounds me.
It’s rearing its ugly head now though |

There is no doubt this team lacks what Bortuzzo is now giving the Islanders. His toughness, leadership and defensive ability is very noticeable and he is making a difference for them. Got him for a 7th rounder. Donnie boy would rather have Tage block shots. WTF is all I can say.

Remember when Granato said that the players were frustrated after the awful loss in the opener?
Part of me thinks that frustration is with the absolute lack of effort or ability to improve this team during the offseason. |

Do you want Kev and Donnie making the decisions on these kids next year?

I’m 1000% out on the coaching staff and have been for sometime.
I’ve liked what the front office has done up until they completely bungled these last few months.
They have 49 games left for me to write their apology letter and sure won’t be able to fall on the “injury” crutch if this team continues to underwhelm starting tomorrow night |

Not to sound like a broken record, but what have they done to improve the team, other than make their draft picks?
Think one thing is clear to everyone now: all the answers are not already in the organization.

I don’t think they ever were, and the lack of urgency this season is complete negligence on their part.
In terms of making their draft picks, you can find busts even at the top of the draft. Alex Nylander anyone ?
They are able to identity talent at the amateur level which is even harder to do than at the professional level.
It all boils down to lack of urgency and their plan for the future, which undoubtedly still looks extremely bright (I can see the eye rolls and hear the snickering from here but there is a lot of evidence to suggest it’s true)
Adams did not do enough to win this season, but the coaching and injuries have compounded that immensely to this monstrosity of a 33 game sample of suffering

Development year 3. Prepare for one more. There were options to improve this team that were not taken.

Can KA really shift to urgency and agression? The guy who just misread his team and overpaid to bring them all back again? The guy who extended so many of these guys that change won't be easy? Or is this just who KA is?

If he can’t do that after what we’ve witnessed year to date, he should be packing up his things with the coaching staff.
That leads us to the numero Uno problem with this franchise and the owner who’s scared of his own shadow.
