I honestly think Dubas realized after 4-5 years or whatever that he was wrong about icing a team of pansies, and changed his philosophy a bit. Good on him. But it was too late and the culture was already established..
It took a bit to happen, but Tre got this team playing snottier. And I think finally the Leafs go on a run.
