This is a best prospect tournament. It is not a country best on best. The best players in the world play in the NHL so IMO this tournament loses a lot of it's luster. We see the same thing year after year. Three teams dominate the world in hockey year after year.
If they held it every four years and shut down the NHL and actually had all the best players then I might feel different but until then it is a cash cow and does not mean a lot. Also Canada is given a huge advantage every year by having the home games in North America year after year and an occasional European location.
