First of all Canucks shellacking of Oilers and San Jose is a rarity not an annual event.
Secondly every game is not played in Vancouver and both teams are familiar with the rink size.
Thirdly even though some teams have poor attendance they still get equal amounts of home games.
Personally I could not give a sh1t if Coyotes have bad attendance or not. It doesn't affect me one bit. - VANTEL
I have no idea how Canada has managed to win so many times, on international ice. |

[quote=Load Management]I enjoy it because for a lot of these kids it represents the pinnacle of their hockey careers. Plus I get to see a few guys I've seen play in the W.
For those complaining about how commercial it is, look around you. That's the modern world. At least you'll get a break from mid game gambling ads.
Much better

That's not what they wear in the WJC.

Their winning percentage is a lot lower on international ice than it is in NA. Why Canada does not always win in the Olympics played overseas. |

Moneyline odds have the Canucks as the underdog today. Weird. It seems like everyone's waiting for the Canuck bubble to burst. I wonder what it will take for people to take them as a legitimately competitive team? |

Not surprised at all that Canada would medal 14 times in a four team tournament. They also did not send their best players before the IOC opened it up for pros. Lots of stats that mean squat and the IOC is a far from legit organization but that is another topic.
They eye test surely shows that Canadians are not as dominant on the bigger ice surface, the home crowd, and the time change when they go to Europe.

Exactly, plus I'm a proud Junior Hockey grad. I respect the amount of work and dedication it takes just to play a game in this tournament regardless of the outcome or who's broadcasting it and sponsoring. I'll always have time for the WJC. |

The WJC's are great, especially when you have a ticket package. It used to be must see TV for me as well but now I just catch the odd game when I can. |

Yeah man, got to see them out here a few years ago compliments of a friend at BC Hockey. Some of the better Hockey I've watched. Even the lesser teams were entertaining. |

In this case, there could be reasonable explanations. Nashville hottest team in the NHL right now. Van starting the back up. Van's terrible starts more likely to catch up to them against a team like Nash compared to the last couple. |

In Petey's last 12 games against the Preds, he's scored 9 goals, 16 points. |

I wonder what the analytics say?
I do agree, the Olympics have been a farce for as far back as I can remember, which is before they allowed western pro's compete with the Eastern bloc pro's.

This all started because the Bruin fan called me unpatriotic.
I used to watch the WJs also, but year after year of dominating it got boring for me. If Canucks prospects are not playing I have no more interest in the competition. Overkill. |

Trying to watch Bruins-Wild game, but Jack Edward's is hard to listen to. Not sure who is worse, Jack, Ray or Cassie |
