Colorado and Boston both lack the necessary picks or prospects to get Lindholm, even if they badly need him. They also lack the cap space to sign him long-term.
I see him going to a team on the rise that has the goods and will be able to sign him. |

The return for Lindholm is going to be very underwhelming, especially if the team trading for him employs pro scouts. |

Lindholm has not been good this year at all. I'm 110% certain he is not getting traded for that package. |

to COL: E. Lindholm, 50% salary retention
to CAL: S. Behrens, T. Makar, COL 1st Rd. Pick in 2025,
If the market is based on what Horvat got traded for, and his signing long term shortly after, I don't think Lindholm's package is going to exceed that. Conroy's eyes light up at the thought of having a Makar on his team. |

Colorado has zero cap space and no one on their roster that could create enough space. That’s a ridiculous suggestion.
LA has Koptiar, Danault, Dubois, Byfield, Turcotte, etc. why in the world would they remotely be tied to Lindholm?
Boston for sure makes sense and seems very likely.
Maybe Minnesota finally solves center, but completely re shapes its roster makeup to do so. Though that is harder now after Guerins terrible contracts this summer.
The Sabres have TOO MANY middle of the road players. Maybe they package a couple together to upgrade to a true #2 center.
Blues and Preds are both in contention and could use a center.
In the end though, Boston seems the easy guess.

He's a pending UFA so unless other teams are given permission to reach an extension prior to the trade then I have a hard time believing the Flames are going to be absolutely wow'd by an offer.
That said, assuming there isn't an extension in place, here's my offer from the Avs:
'24 1st
'26 2nd (Avs don't have a '24 or '25 2nd round pick)
Sean Behrens (D-prospect, DU)
Ryan Johansen with 33.3% ($1.332m) retained

DJ Smith should've been fired weeks ago - but new owner, new gm - they didn't want to panic or seem too eager. Sens are much better than their record but structurally need to play a lot better. |

Avs have $4.825m in cap space thanks to Girard, Lehky, and Landeskog being on LTIR |

I think Seattle is a dark horse on Lindholm, and could really use him now. I could see them doing a Shane Wright deal for a signed Lindholm.
I could also see a 3 team deal of EDM, CGY, BOS, with Ullmark going to EDM, Lindholm to BOS, and Skinner to BOS, with picks/prospects bandied about (mostly headed to CGY)...and some cap retention on Ullmark too perhaps (or a Foegle-like player going to BOS). |

ok, so you say:
Elias Lindholm is 100% moving on after turning down a MEGA offer from the Flames….There is no shortage of suitors…
and then you say:
I am working on the Rumor Chart, which will launch soon, and currently my percentages for Lindholm would be…
Calgary 10%
So he is 100% moving on, yet Calgary has a 10% chance of signing him.
Confused on the math...how can he be 100% moving on with a 10% chance at signing with Calgary? |

Easy, his value is so high because he always gives 110% out there |

He rejected $9 mill/yr offer already, not many teams will be able to afford him as an UFA. I don't see Calgary getting much in a trade if he is merely a rental... |

NYR send-
Goodrow (unlikely waives)
Kakko
Adam Sykora
1st this year
1st next year (conditional, SCF appearance). Or 2nd rder
For Elias
————
If goodrow doesn’t waive
Kakko
Zac Jones (could run their PP)
1st this year
1st next year (conditional, SCF appearance). Or 2nd rder
For Elias (may need some retention)
————
Rangers could really use Elias imo |

It's EK-Math...so, like 100% IF in reality he ends up being traded...but if he doesn't end up getting traded then Ek's guess (cough, "high-up inside knowledge sources") was still 10% right still, lol.
Yes, it makes no sense..it's Ek, why set a standard so high as anything making sense that he says?

I guess if you want a rumour/speculation site to be definitive and accurate then I can understand how you can be confused, damnit how dare Hockeybuzz post speculative comments to generate discussion. |
