An average goalie will not win much in the long run, but whatever.

They should just trade him.

Maybe he can land in a plumb easy job like Hill got with Vegas last year...

- Mashadar

that's what baffles me about this perspective, he isn't signed for the long run either loll

It was so much simpler back in the day when we had Carey Price, no one was arguing about him...

oh, wait.

The entire NHL for years: Carey Price is the best goaltender in the league.

Some fans in Montreal: He's so overrated dude! He sucks! Trade him! Lazy bum! Can't even score!

people just had to lean out their window and argue with anyone who didn't agree with them on the goalie situation whether they were talking to them or not.

Looking at Goalies with 12+ games played (Allen played 12) and Allen sits 38th

https://www.nhl.com/stats...verage&page=0&pageSize=50

Now, not all backups have played 12 games.

Monty (that's an ok#1) sits at 15th. Not bad not great but we can live with that kind of performance.

don't tell me you think we should've held on to Lindgren because he's having a decent year now...

yeah, you have to put things in context though. it's a lot easier to have a good GAA when you play in BOS or LA or any good teams out there than when you play for MTL SJ CHI or ANA which lead the league in SOG againts, block shots, penalties...

a 0.910 average in MTL and in BOS is not at all the same thing.

He has only 5 less career wins than Monty, despite starting 36 less games...

Also, this is not a pro-Lindgren post, but more of a reality-check Monty post.

yeah, you keep hating on Monty with your "reality checks", it's all good. I don't get it but whatever.
