we're so close now!

although we got dissed by santa last night. he went all through the neighborhood and didn't come down the street we were on. i'm gonna chalk it up as an honest mistake. i hear he's a pretty good guy.

the neighborhood really is like a maze and they may have just thought they already came down that street.

we went to uncle jim's today and kicksis's house tonight.

tomorrow there's a big bash at the gingerbread house. but i don't go until at least 4:00.

here I was at my parents place last night, we exchanged gifts, had some drinks, ate good food, it was a pretty good time. gonna do the same thing tomorrow night at my grandmothers' with the whole family.

other than that it's pretty quiet for me until new year's eve, I might do stuff but I didn't plan anything, I wanna take things smooth for the holiday break.

the gingerbread house is aunt candy and uncle ger's house. when they're home from florida for the holidays (they get here mid-autumn) we all party at their house. kickbro and aunt kim actually move in for those couple months that can and ger are home. but that's where we wrap all the presents and make (and eat) all the cookies and assorted goodies. then christmas day is at the house too.

that sounds nice that you spend time with the family too during the holidays. i always feel a little sad for people who don't get to do that for whatever reason.

omg, i was jammed in the back of a car with two other people so i had no chance to get my phone in time and get a picture of this, but we passed a house with a big inflatable santa lawn decoration, only it wasn't santa, it was a big chicken in a santa suit!

yeah, for sure. as long as they have a friend or 2 they can see or talk to, being completely alone would suck this time of year... I figure that people who have zero friends and no family whatsoever are either extremely unlucky, or are giant bumholes that no one wants to hang out with lol.

i learned how to drink by watching them. my grandfather used to say "we're the eatingest, drinkingest family i ever saw" lol

agreed about the giant bumholes. some people are spending these times alone because they absolutely deserve to. but i feel bad for the ones who don't deserve it but end up spending the holidays alone. like, that just sounds so sad.

I find it's a great movie/holiday classic, but I think the over-hyping and general obsession that a lot of people have around this time of year can get on my nerves, there are other good christmas movies that exist out there lol.


it's a bit like that (frank)ing Mariah Carey christmas song, I like christmas music but that one is just wayyy too overplayed, every frickin' year.
