Tage has 2 days, I don't see Girgs staying there. Seems like place holder for practice - DirtyDan
This could be a “ break thru” career altering path for Girgensons getting legit top line minutes. (Finally)
Could plot 15 or 20 this season
If okposo is getting 17 minutes a night and some pp time…….

it would be better for krebs, skinner and tuch to throw krebs up there for a practice instead of the former all star, IMO - homiedclown

If Tyson Jost clears waivers and joins the Rochester Americans, the Sabres will be spending $5.25 million for three players to be on their AHL roster:
Jost ($2 million)
Jacob Bryson ($1.9 million)
Riley Stillman ($1.35 million)
Not ideal. |

Could have had 7mill and brought in a entire new 4th Line, which probably would have been a upgrade. It was actually the perfect offseason to rebuild your Bottom 6. Adams missed his Signal again. - Buff36

I wouldn't be surprised if those requests don't start coming Adams way after new years, what would you sell off at the deadline? Who would you wait to trade in the offseason?

I could also get a fluffer from Margot Robbie.
The odds of that happening though ? Impossible.
Bertuzzi had his eyes on Toronto from the very beginning. |

Oh thats right, he doesn't wear a dress.
You have no freaking clue what you are talking about when it comes to hockey.
You think you sign Hathaway to rely on him to score goals. |

If Jost clears waivers, he'll likely become the third Sabres player on a one-way contract to join the Rochester Americans this season. The Sabres would be paying Jost and defensemen Jacob Bryson and Riley Stillman a combined $5.25 million to play for the Amerks. They're also spending a combined $2.075 million for five veteran players to be in Rochester: Dustin Tokarski, Devin Cooley, Jeremy Davies, Kale Clague and Joe Cecconi. The Amerks are fourth in the AHL's North Division with a 13-11-3 record.
Owner Terry Pegula can't be pleased with that development. He wanted to slash spending in Rochester when the Sabres fired their former general manager, Jason Botterill, in 2020. Now, they're back to paying big money for depth players to take ice time and opportunity away from the prospects on the Amerks' roster, which flies in the face of Adams' long-term vision for building a sustainable winner. |

Agreed
I’m more disappointed in the “stars”
Tage, cozens, power
These core guys are just average so far…..
Power looks completely lost |

Lance is limiting himself to only the past 2 seasons with free agents, Adams has never signed a successful FA:
The problems began in each of the past two summers. The Sabres haven't received enough production or consistent play from their free-agent signings.
Eric Comrie has an .881 save percentage in 26 appearances since signing a two-year contract with the Sabres in 2022. Defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin was traded to Anaheim in August after only one season in Buffalo. Neither of the Sabres defense signings in 2023, Connor Clifton and Erik Johnson, have filled the team's need for someone who can be relied on to skate next to Rasmus Dahlin or Owen Power on one of the top two pairings.
Granato lauded the Sabres' director of pro scouting, Jeremiah Crowe, recently for identifying Robinson as a competitive, checking-line winger, but the team isn't surrounding Crowe with a robust staff to help him identify talent.
The Sabres recently hired longtime NCAA assistant coach Brad Dexter as a pro scout, though he hasn't been involved in pro hockey in 22 years. Otherwise, Adams relies on Crowe, Granato, Amerks coach Seth Appert, associate general manager Jason Karmanos and the analytics staff to scout possible free-agent, trade and waiver acquisitions.
The Sabres have built an effective amateur scouting staff, but they're relying on only a few sets of eyes to improve the margins of a roster that's filled with young players whom Adams identified as franchise pillars.
Jost's departure is more evidence that Adams' plan to bring back the same roster didn't work. The forward depth chart hasn't been healthy. A few players who received lucrative long-term contracts are struggling to perform up to expectations. Others are enduring sophomore slumps because a player's development curve in pro hockey is never linear.
Victor Olofsson, who, like Jost, was a healthy scratch late last season, has only four goals and 12 points in 30 games while skating primarily on the fourth line. He wasn't going to be on the power play Wednesday against Boston until the Sabres learned that Thompson would be unavailable. The Sabres aren't getting a return on their investment for the $4.75 million that Olofsson counts against the salary cap and it won't be possible to trade the winger before the deadline if it continues.
