yes he is a victim - hello it's me 2050
he gets the same amount of respect as he gives others. it's pretty straight-forward. We aren't here tearing down other posters because they are capable of having conversations.
he is only capable of telling you why you're wrong. that's not conducive
to discussion. |

No I never said that, but thanks.
I just think the coach of a multimillion dollar NHL team could use a little bit more class when talking about his young players. No, there was nothing wrong with him criticizing the player and where work needs to be done. I just dislike the way he goes about it. - TheFreak
you've made it clear you have a personal bias against him. if another coach did this it wouldn't bother you. |

It was pretty clear in your post that you weren't objecting to the player being criticized but were objecting to how he was criticized. |

Of course it would....where do you get that idea from? I don't think the coach needs to tear down young players publicly like Torts does. It comes across as petty when he made the play to setup a goal, and they are coming off beating the top team in the league. Fluke, bad defensive play by Zadorov, or whatever..he was where he needed to be and a goal was scored. Torts could have easily drawn a positive from the game, mentioned continuing to work with the players and leave it on a positive note. Instead, he went Torts.
If we had Cooper here and he sat Frost like Torts did, and runs down his players to the press like Torts does, I would have issues with him too. Difference is, Cooper wouldn't do that. Not the way Torts does. |

It was uncalled for. It is why I dislike Torts. My opinion. Because you disagree, does not make it wrong.
His quote:
“Brink has gotta learn how to check, he’s driving me crazy. I love the kid, but he doesn’t know how to check ass and he has to learn that part of the game”
Could have pushed the same topic, without comments like this. It is uncalled for at the NHL level. |

I have to admit though, if Tortorella coached the Flyers to multiple cups like Cooper has in TB. I'd be willing to overlook a lot of things.

this is another example of how people don't like the way Torts does things but completely ignore how the guys playing for him feel. don't you think that's pertinent info?
if we had guys on the team coming out and saying it's miserable playing for him and that he's handling guys on the team wrong then you might have a point.
but these professional athletes are firing on all cylinders and having fun and winning. doesn't sound like anyone who is actually playing for him has much of a problem with how he handles players seeing as how they are doing plenty of winning.

I can dislike a person for how he is, without giving a rip what others think of him. If I think he's an as$, it doesn't matter to me if he is loved by billions.
I dislike Trump too, and can't understand how anyone can support that man. Doesn't mean others don't like him or think he is great. |

Not hurt by it, kind of embarrassed that that is what the coach had to say after a big win. Why is my opinion of Torts an issue for you?

because the Flyers just beat one of the best teams in the league in their own building by a score of 4-1 and you're here complaining about the coach. it's comical. what else you got?

There are many players who have been outspoken against Tortorella in the past. To base anything on whether any player currently on the team has come out publicly against Tortorella is illogical and unintelligent. Especially for a young player.

so my opinion is an issue for you. I think you need help.
I have complimented this team for the win last night, and critisized Torts for being himself. If it's an issue for you, then don't read.. |
