15 was perfect for him. He was solid
Seeler was a boss all game long. - Just5
that is what I was going to allude to. Playing him the correct amount of minutes and he can be a solid dman. So fa the coaches have done that. In a 3rd pairing role no issue with RR. |

I rest my case. The above is a juvenile response. You can't debate honestly simply because the depth of your knowledge of the game is about as deep as a bottle cap. So you have to resort to name calling and throwing in a bud or buddy. Again, there is a public record. You can't do anything about that which is why you've taken the conversation in the current direction. It must really bother you that you can't do anything about it. - MJL
And there it is! You got nothing, bud |

They can be tight knit without giving out bear hugs that put some of the best players in the world on pp’s. I despise fake fights after clean hits - Just5
I agree, I was a bit vexed at Atkinson also but this tan just picks each other up, it’s awesome to see and easy to root for. |

Remember a couple weeks ago his ice time started to creep up. He had one good game and then the puck was a grenade on his stick? He really needs those limited minutes and puck touches. |

We've been here before jd. We know how it turns out. Again, there is a public record that is all the information needed. You told me I walked the plank with Fletcher. How did it turn out. Actually, many may not like me but they all take me seriously. They all hang on every post I make. The public record is all of the proof that I need. - MJL
you crack me up cliff. You must lead a sad sack life when not posting. Thinking your important on a message board. Try E harmony or one of those sites for some companionship. |

I'm in agreement with you that when you look at all of the available data and look at this time, its reasonable to believe that the current level of play is not sustainable. However with the NHL point system, it makes it harder and harder to catch up as the season goes along. Historically, a team in the Flyers current position at this time of year has a strong chance of making the playoffs. The Flyers are in the playoff hunt. That can't be denied. - MJL
I am not denying they are in a playoff picture currently. They have played well, and I loved sweeping my hometown Vancouver Canucks this year and holding them to just 1 goal. Pretty proud of being able to say they play hard, and show up every game. Not many games/ shifts taken off these days. Watching the game with Canuck fans last night, and they kept saying how prepared we looked. We looked ready to go from the drop of the puck, and didn't really let up. Vancouver looked they had turkey hang over.
However, it is only 4 points between 4 teams, 6 points from 2-7th place. What's up with TK? A small slide due to injuries, and not a drop in playing level and effort can be the undoing of a team. I think NJD is going to go on a tear in the new year, and Carolina only has 2 regulation losses in their last 10, and their stars are heating up. I just think at the end of the day, both NJD and Carolina jump us in the standings.
Both NJD and Carolina have goalie issues. Both have key players out with injury. |
|
|
|
There is more season left than played. More than enough time for NJD and Carolina to climb 4 points in the standings, and the Flyers to drop. It's not like they are 10 points back. We are tied in points with Carolina, and 4 up on NJD. The season does not have to be young for them to make up 4 points. It can happen over the last 5 games of the season. - TheFreak
do not disagree. Just gets old making excuses for other teams is all, whether valid or not. |

The Devils have had Dougie Hamilton, Jack Hughes and Hischier miss time with injuries, and their goaltending has been atrocious. And they are still just 4 points back. - TheFreak
Right, the Devils achilles heal has been their goal tending, it wears down a team after a while. But with the Flyers third goal tending has picked them up. Look at what Hart did last night to pick up Ersson. |

Solid, no he wasn't. He is a player that the Flyers traded a 1st and 2nd round pick for and are paying him a 5M cap hit. The on ice results are a 40.91 CF%, xgf% 37.91 and HDCF% of 28.57%. That's below mediocre. - MJL
its a sunk cost cliff. So what they paid to acquire him and then paid him doesn't matter at this point. |

You're a repeat failure. You try but fail miserably. That's just the facts. I wish I had a dollar for every debate you and I have had and I've turned out right. I'll say the same thing I tell jd250. There is a public record. You can't do anything about that. - MJL
no hockey content in this post. Stop trolling. |

yep, no need to play him up to try to justify the cost. Leave him on the 3rdpair unless an emergency |

Agreed...he's here and is playing better than he has for most of his career. He is playing enough decent minutes to make his contract a non factor. I am not pro or con Risto...if I don't notice him, it's a good thing. But he must keep it up, and it would be nice to see his offense pick it up. He used to have a nice shot. |

Actions mean more than words. If the Flyers are in a playoff spot come the trade deadline. I would be shocked if they traded players for future assets. They may not buy that is not being committed to a rebuild. That is being committed to the current team. How does this organization deserve a benefit of the doubt? For a 20 game streak of good hockey? LOL. I'm not as gullible as you are. - MJL
I think it’s fine to be skeptical based on the past decade of Flyers hockey, but this is a new leadership that so far has said the right things and has not done anything to conflict with their words. All I am saying is to just enjoy watching this team play well and have a good season, and if and when the leadership does something conflicting then go ahead and bash them, I’ll be right there with you, and of course claim it’s how I felt all along |

I think the voters will see a team that was picked to be in the bottom 5 of the league making the playoffs, having wins against every good team in the league and a team void of elite talent. - jd250
Probably have something to do with last half of the season. |

I had no problem with Risto last night, he played solid, as did Z, Walker and Seeler. I thought York and Sanheim had rough games but then again going against Patterson will do that to you. |

That’s why you can’t listen to “the so called” experts….form your own opinions. Some simply won’t say what they think because they don’t want to look stupid in a public form…we are allowed because we use fake names. |

assuming he did play ok, the point is playing him lesser minutes is when he is not a liability, for the most part. |

all I am saying is if he is going to use where they were predicted out finish then that applies to all coaches. Not just torts. |
