Torts is 100% correct. Listen to Tocchets post game last night, he said essentially the same thing about his team. Brinks skating will be his biggest hurdle. You don’t check in this league, you have no chance. |

assuming he did play ok, the point is playing him lesser minutes is when he is not a liability, for the most part. - hello it's me 2050
I feel like the Flyers are doing everything possible to basically pretty up a pig. Get the best they can out of Ristolianen and maybe someone who needs defensive help badly comes calling.
Not saying you will get a huge return but maybe they can move him.

We've been here before jd. We know how it turns out. Again, there is a public record that is all the information needed. You told me I walked the plank with Fletcher. How did it turn out. Actually, many may not like me but they all take me seriously. They all hang on every post I make. The public record is all of the proof that I need. - MJL
First off, you’re on a hockey blog website with maybe 50 active flyers fans. Nobody, and I mean nobody is watching a Flyers game and thinking I wonder what MJL is going to comment about the game. If you want to be takin somewhat seriously start your own blog on here. It’s right at the top of the home page. You would probably last a month before you’re axed. |

So Brink takes the puck away from a player that is what? 8+ inches taller than him, that directly led to a Flyers goal, and all Torts can say is he doesn't what he is doing.
This is the a$s stuff I hate. Why can't he say something like Brink got lucky with the check on Zadarov, and we are continuing to work on that side of the game with him. Instead, it's he doesn't know how to check his a$$..

Risto would not be a liability if he played 18 or 19 minutes either, we saw that in the Detroit game. He is doing a great job pairing with Z and mentoring him, I don’t think playing 15 minutes is being sheltered. |

can never just play to the players strengths. - hello it's me 2050
I THINK I get what he is saying. At least I hope I do. I don't think Torts is saying he wants Brink to lay big hits, but I do think Brink needs to work on his body positioning and being on the right side of the puck. Riding guys to safe areas, taking the right angles etc.
At least I hope so. If he is talking about hits then that is just stupid.

I don’t know and I don’t care, both teams are soft and I really don’t think either will fair well as the season goes along. What did you think of Vancouver last night? They are a soft team and you will see them come back to earth this second half.
I guarantee you Tony, Nicky and Mikey will kick the crap out of Connor, Tucker and Kyle! - jd250
VCR has a lot of talent and like the Flyers are playing to their system fairly consistently….not sure if they will finish a top the standings but they are a solid team. Like the Flyers, goaltending has been stellar. |

Torts said TK will be fine, actually good post game presser
Was a little tough on Brink and his need to learn how to check.

Yes if you listen, Torts says they will teach hin. Brinks skating, you hope it gets better in off season and as he heads into his prime, he does well because he reads the play so well and has a great stick.

I agree, I was a bit vexed at Atkinson also but this tan just picks each other up, it’s awesome to see and easy to root for. - jd250
They are a fun team to watch. They are playing the right way. They keep talking about a strong room, and honestly that will be tested if DB moves some guys out. |

While I don’t agree with Torts, you can be an effective player without doing a ton of checking but that play was more about a very poor decision by Zadorov who is prone to turn overs |

He’s going to call his players out in his own way in front of the cameras. That’s torts. Brink was a mess last night and had been running on fumes. Foerster is also providing next to nothing offensively but is still doing the little things |

I did say "Brink got lucky with the check on Zadarov"
I am not disagreeing with the assessment that Brink needs work. It is the way Torts goes about saying it.
Coming off a nice 4-1 win of the leading team in the NHL, he could just smile and say something positive. |

you saw that in 1 game. His larger, whole career, sample size says differently.
15 minutes is being sheltered somewhat. Mentoring Z lol. Thats fresh take. |

I think Brinks been great. He seemed to fight it last night a bit, but overall he is becoming more consistent…wouldn’t be shocked if there are some more bumps in the road, but his skill level and hockey senses are top notch. |

I'll tell you the same thing I tell every other clown. Unless you become a troll, which you are quickly approaching, I'll gladly discuss and debate any of my opinions with you. You can have an opportunity to best me with your superior hockey knowledge. I'm around and easily found. You won't do that though because you know that you can't. Again, there is a public record. Ready when you are. I challenge you.

you always have try to improve your game. No issue with that, to me he just focuses on a certain aspect instead of what his strengths are, which is offense. Stop trying to change the player in a sense. |

I remember way back when RJ Umberger one off season worked on his skating. He came back and looked like a much diff player. Always wondered who he worked with, maybe Bill knows.
Players like brink should find the best there is or close to it and def work with said coach. |

I have and think he is an a$s most of the time. It's why I don't like him. As a person. His negativity and whole persona rub me the wrong way. Same with his bench demeanor. I am the least violent person you would ever meet, but he makes me want to punch him in his nose. That says enough for me.
Yep..goddam Vancouver Island hippie..lol |
