Matt Murley , even Elliott says the guy does get info that checks out, so who's to say it's not possible...anyways with the reluctant way this goes with EP , that alone will fuel speculation - onesmallleap
Listening to JR last week... he said they suggested EP just focus on hockey the rest of the season. This was in regard to the report they touched base recently. No progress but far from reluctant if they started talking again...
Look, everyone knows how you feel about EP. Try and keep it real though. You might have the worse case of confirmation bias I ever seen on here and I've seen some doozies.

There’s zero chance the Canucks trade Elias Pettersson, unless someone vastly overpays, you don’t draft those kind of offensively skilled players very often and he’s an RFA, not a UFA, so I don’t get why people are buying into the internet fluff. It’s almost as bad as Perry banging Bedards mom.
With all the young Swedes coming up and the teams success this year he’ll sign a fair deal in the off-season.

IKR... Peteys best years are ahead of him and he's already a point per game over his career. Rutherford last week called him a top 5 forward in the league when he's on his game...
People are (frank)ed... they spend a year saying Petey wants to leave because he wants to be on a winner... I constantly pondered why people thought he didn't want to win on the Canucks. Then when the Canucks are in first place... the same people think Petey wants to go to a last place team. No confirmation bias in play there at all.

He complained he’s tired of losing, so Vancouver starts winning, in a big way, and suddenly he wants to go to a second last place team…..you can’t make this sh!t up.

If Petey wants way too much money and won't budge I think they will trade him but that will be in the off season obviously.
Interesting comments from Rutherford. He said if Petey wants long term they are good with that. If he wants short term, they are good with that also. Clearly the hold up is salary not term...
I know you’re being facetious but the highest paid player in the league makes $13,250,000 next season, Matthews, so I’m guessing his comparable’s will put him around 10-11 million. It’s not his salary, it’s his percentage of the cap, which is going up.

Maybe there’s no holdup at all, maybe Pettersson just wants to play hockey and bet on himself having another 100+ point season, which will increase his value. I believe Elliotte Friedman said on one of his podcasts “when Pettersson’s camp is ready to talk contract the Canucks have a bag full of money ready for him”. So maybe he just doesn’t want to talk about it right now.

They just recently talked and had no progress according to JR. He suggested Petey just focus on hockey the rest of the season. Jim also said they are fine with short or long term... what ever Petey is comfortable with. Eliot isn't on the same page if he said that.... clearly management has a limit and they will work it out after the season. I trust them...
I'll dig up the video off youtube but I warn you... Hodge and Shannon are painful... Hodge has dementia worse than Biden.

Seeing the Flyer's cooperalls again made me laugh. I read that Carolina will be rocking the Whalers cooperalls on February 10th. I don't know why, but I love the ole whale tail logo.

I ignore all that poop. When something actually happens then comes a discussion.

I think this is accurate. Why wouldn’t he bet on himself, if that is the case
