Yet, not even in the top 5 ranked teams in the league. Context. - Marwood
Context there would be that the Barkov line is carrying that team so far this year. It doesn't take an idiot to know that 1 line isn't going to take you very far.
The actual context for Van would be that the top 6 needs to be a bit better. |

Interesting, I guess with the top lines struggling to match other top lines and the PP not measuring up and a coaching staff that really don’t know or frankly care, might be time to just give up on the season.
It was fun while it lasted but maybe they can get better by trading Pettersson to Chicago and start over . |

They did get better by trading Horvat.
Also for "context" I said make a trade, I didn't say for who and for what. |

Patrik Allvin spoke to the Swedish media and dropped a few tidbits. #Canucks
Jonathan Lekkerimäki is expected to cross the pond next year.
Elias Pettersson is likely heading to the AHL after his season in the Allsvenskan. 👀
Expect a slow cook for Tom Willander. |

I read yesterday that Jack Eichel and the Las Vegas Golden Knights are the first player/team to ever win a Stanley Cup in the modern/new NHL era (1993 to present) with a 10 million dollar player cap hit. I just thought that was interesting as I wrongly assumed someone had a cap hit that high and won a Cup already. |

Did they? Not measuring up and doom and gloom, and such.
In all seriousness this is the 1st season these guy are gelling together, they won’t be tops in all categories or any at all. Hopefully they can prove they are talented enough to play at a top level and have a good run, build from that.
I can see Kuzmenko traded by trade deadline, even Pettersson if he holds himself above the team, but in the off season would be preferable. |

Sounds about right from what I’ve seen of the trio. |

I’m hearing rumblings of trading Hronek, he’s asking to much on his next deal apparently. |

It was going to happen sooner or later. 16 players have a cap hit above 10M now. There are 14 players with a cap hit from 9.5-9.9.
Nylander, Reinhart, Guentzal and Pettersson could add to that list. All over PPG players. Rantanen, DRais, Marner, Hedman, Bouchard, Dobson are all up the year after that. |

Rutherford never got rid of Malkin.
I think if you could just find a better 5v5 player that still had top 6 qualities to add to Pettersson's wing. Like Colorado did adding Lekhonen and Nichushkin and Vegas did adding Barbashev.
I don't know who you would get though. |

Agree, it was going to happen eventually, I just thought for sure it would've already happened considering Mario Lemieux was the first player back in 1996-97 to earn over 10 million dollars. That was 26 years ago. |

He should stay at BU and develop at the college level for another season, then one in the AHL, and then make the jump to the NHL. Come into the NHL at around 21 years of age. |

I could understand another season at BU but after that he would be going straight into NHL line up after that. |

Lol, prospects.
He's most definitely checking out the draft eligible prospects and even some undrafted names.
I'm sure Hugo Havelid has hit a nice chord with him.
