Even though greatest need is RSD I don’t expect them to rush Willander. More likely to sign a UFA to fill the gap.

The other two WJC Swedes can see trying to earn a spot next season. If not, that’s what Abby is there to develop them to do it.

Haven't really turned out well for anyone. There is only 10 Finn D in the NHL this year. 6 drafted in the 1st round. Likelihood of that big tall bastard making an impact is about as good as that coveted free agent guy who went to SJ and is sucking in the AHL.

The last Finn the Canucks took Joni Jurmo. I did not like that pick at all.

Hindsight overager Nils Aman is the best player picked in that draft behind Jurmo. That was a pretty bad draft.

Honestly really glad they traded for Miller there.

I don't know what happened in the last couple of decades but there was a time when excellent players were common coming out of Finland. Such a gamble these days....
