5-0 is great and all, but we really need Boeser to score a couple to close the gap on Matthews. - NorthNuck

What a gong show for the Sens. - Load Management
The no excuse Canucks stormed them proper. Could have had more the 5 in that period. This is how you start 2024! |

Kind of a classic Canucks 2nd period. A better team would have scored more than 1... more Canuck goals to come in the 3rd. |

What a hilarious weak goal on Ott after getting a bit of momentum. Lol |

This game raises more questions than answers...
Some good and bad performances tonight. No one had a perfect game but...
Petey and Suter by far the best forwards... both ends of the ice.
Miller although got a goal was lazy. Boeser was terrible... totally invisible. Laffy was a liability. Hughes was terrible... wonder if he's hurt or asleep at the wheel? Dropped his stick multiple times in the 1st. Didn't play anything I'd call defense. Demko doesnt improve in his 1 in 8 and 0 in 9 day breaks he had this season... not sure he needs rest like that to be honest so questions about coaching decisions(Clarke or RT?). Josh was invisible. I guess I could continue to critic but we all saw what happened out there.
That 1st period was fun af though none the less. |

Goalies have issues with lobs that bounce just out of their reach. I thought it was a brilliant hail mary by Suter....

Once in every 100 shots the puck lands on it's edge with shots like that, and bounces like someone tipped it. Unfortunately, there's no stick blade or shaft to try to read it off. It's completely random as to which way and how it bounces.
Neat stat, every Canucks Dman except Hronek got a point this game. But man, that Hughes Hronek pairing was awful tonight. |

I know... that's why I called it a hail mary. Better than a weak shot flat on the ice, straight on net... hope for a crazy bounce. Where he bounced it was perfect... how it landed was the fluke he hoped for.
Yeah no kidding and I could live with those two not getting points occasionally but they were (frank)ing terrible around their own net and walking the line all night. |

Cool. I just thought I'd fully explain it for guys that don't really know a lot about the position and Hockey in general.

Still win by a wide margin though 😆 |

Agree with the assessments. Canucks first was great for scoring but still not the best played.
JTM said after the game was not happy with his play and team has to learn to be better. Cole talked about adjustments to be made. So at least they are aware lots to improve on from this win. |
