How many dumb lazy plays can one 11 million dollar player make in one game.

Marners biggest issue is his deployment. Literally everything runs through him and he has a script to follow that just doesn't work. Especially against defensively tight teams like the canes.
Every time they plow through the neutral zone, its the same play that never works. With no adjustments. And Marner is tasked with doing the impossible. Stupid.

Mitch with another terrible pass. Leafs absolutely would have won tonight had Keefe benched Marner instead of Kampf.

Granted they were better defensively last night save for glaring errors on just about every single goal against, but if you think this defence has not been a major problem this season, we've been watching different teams.

The goaltending has been bad, especially Samsonov's 15 (of 33 games) Woll was ok not consitent, and Jones has been ok not great.

Teams play better when they are confident that the a goalie can be counted on. That's not remotely the case when Sivanov is in the net.

The Defense has been reasonable, especially when you consider the injuries the Leafs have had. Nothing a TDL deal or two could not fix. Leafs need to add one or two D-men and lose Brodie, who has not been earning his $5M in pay.
