The utter stupidity of blaming Nylander for everything. It is obviously not trolling. It is absolute stupidity and stubborn. |

Stop laying the blame other players deserve on him. - Dozzer
He’s been so bad lately.
Tonight’s effort was one of the worst I’ve seen from him. By far his worst this season.
I’m not trying to troll, this is how I saw the game. Marner wasn’t great tonight. But a lot of the mistakes that get blamed on him are due to players not being where they should be on the ice, and he has no good options. Marner never makes a bad play around Matthews because Matthews knows where he should be. |

Why was he the only one that far offside?
Everyone stopped, but Willy just kept going. |

I do agree with the bolded. No good options.
The problem is, the guys around him are exactly where they're supposed to be. That's their system. And its (frank)ing awful. |

I cannot believe Marner choked with the puck forcing the bad pass to Willy with 2 defenders in the area. Or is he just too fancy pants to dump it in deep? |

I really wish he was the Leafs GM ….
We could get Willy for a week of Disneyland passes - and a 7th round pick - |

If it didn't count its definitely Willy's fault. - joel878

Murray - yes
Shartsorov - no
Woll- yes
Marner - no

The goaltending has been bad, especially Samsonov's 15 (of 33 games) Woll was ok not consitent, and Jones has been ok not great.
Teams play better when they are confident that the a goalie can be counted on. That's not remotely the case when Sivanov is in the net.
The Defense has been reasonable, especially when you consider the injuries the Leafs have had. Nothing a TDL deal or two could not fix. Leafs need to add one or two D-men and lose Brodie, who has not been earning his $5M in pay. - winsix
I agree on the goaltending, but this blueline has been consistently awful from bell to bell the entire season. Woll and Jones have somewhat been able to perservere in spite of it, not because of it.
A number of teams in recent years have proven that you can win without a bell cow legit #1 goaltender, with a deep reliable blueline. It's arguably more imperative to not have gaps in your blueline than it is to have a superstar goaltender.
Rielly has been good but leaky lately. Brodie has lost a noticeable step, Gio is doing alright for being 57 but you can't expect him to tow the line. Benoit and Lagesson have been serviceable but depth defenceman as well. McCabe and Timmins have been atrocious defensively, Liljegren a level before that.
The entire blueline badly needs an overhaul and I'm positive no goaltender is going to succeed long term behind it until it is |

There is a taste of what Leafs Nation will be given once the playoffs start. Teams know how to shut down the Leafs offense. It's been the same for 6 years, but they still keep running out the core 4 and the results are the same. Goaltending was OK tonight, but the defense isn't good enough. The Leafs only have 3 legitimate NHL defensemen on their roster. The rest are placeholders and should be in the minors or dressed as the 7th defenseman. I'm tired of the Willy love and want to see him either sign a reasonable deal or fuk off! Tired of the same old boy toy attitude. Treliving needs to do his job and fix this defense or face a humiliation loss in the first round. Sickening! |

It’s you’re female doging and whining about a winger on a 120P pace you’re insane. The End. |

He doesn’t get a pass for poor defensive play just because he’s putting up pts.
You guys are trying to get him paid 11M for some reason and I’m pointing out how INSANE that is.
He’s -6 in the last 3 games.

If Bertuzzi could even earn half his salary, that would be a big help at this point.
Domi had a great game tonight, but not many on the season.
We only pay McCabe 50% of it so tough to complain too much, but he (frank)ing blows at 4 million in salary. The guy needs to never have an offensive thought ever again, he's the new Holl running all over the place and consistently hanging his partner out to dry. |

Tavares contract was the beginning of the problem with high salaries. Mitch getting 10.9 will cause the future problems. |

Agreed! He might get 100 points by the end of the year. We just saw the game plan that teams will employee going down the stretch. It's all about the lack of defense and not about how a one dimensional forward getting $11M. He'll never be worth more than he is today and would fetch us a top tier defenseman. Get it done! Wingers come and go, but defense and center are more important. The goaltending is fine, without Samsonov.

No team will ever go far with Marner soaking up 10.9 million on the cap to (frank) up all night every night. He buried it in this team when he demanded that contract.
He should be told his next deal falls around 9 per or he can jog the (frank) on. |

Marner at 11 is a joke. And I bet he'll think he deserves a raise on his next deal. He's a great player but if you need to shake up the "core 4" he's the one to go. |

Make him play without Matthews. This year it has been obvious who needs who.
