i'm actually going to try not to drink too too much tomorrow. i'm bringing a vape pen and a cartridge with me and i'll hit that throughout the day and night. everybody is driving home drunk 15 minutes after the ball drops. i don't really want to be a part of that so i'll hit the pen and stop around 10 pm and ride out the high.

i uber if i know i'm going to be drunk. i also try to stop drinking long before i ever get in the car if i am driving. but you can't trust other people to do that. every year driving home i see people who are all over the road and wonder how they expect to get through a police checkpoint if they even make it to one.

and there's zero excuse for doing it these days (not that any of the excuses were ever any good anyway). rideshare companies are ubiquitous parts of life now. there is nobody who doesn't know what uber or lift are at this point. if you have a 20 in your pocket or even a credit card, you can get home safely.
