The only thing that matters is what the Flyers do at the draft table. What they need, top line center and top pair defensemen, are for the most part only acquired through the draft. Any trades for those types of players are too few and far between to even think of it as a possibility.
The team IMO isn’t that far away but what they need is extremely hard to get. - psuhockey
Konecny might fetch an overpaid top 4 or even top 2 dman.
What are we going to do anyway, sign him to a long-term contract at 7 million per year or more?

Pretty embarrassing there for the defenseman but really, that wasn't that great of a move. Pretty poor skating technique by the defenseman there. I don't like the between the legs shot. No chance to score on that with the goaltender down covering the shot side. The deke to the backhand across the net and he probably scores there. - MJL
Why would you actually care. |

Konecny is going to get picks and 2nd level prospects. If it was me I would use him or Hart to try and move up into the draft’s top 10. Does the number 14-16th 1st round pick plus Konecny or Hart get the Flyers in the 7 or 8 range?
If the Flyers aren’t going to tank, might be the only way to get up there. |

I would also if they could although I doubt that the Flyers do that. I see them re-signing Konecny.

WAs just watching the NHL Network when I got back in and I see that Cutter is leading the WJ tournament with 10 points. The guy that was analyzing things said that he's been da man. He's always been able to create his own shot, but he said what he has seen that has surprised him the most is that he is becoming a distributor of the puck. Perhaps he will become the center at the NHL level that they need. No? Yes? |

The Flyers shouldn’t put it all on Cutter making the transition to becoming a top #1C. Besides when this team is actually ready to compete Couturier will likely be better suited as a #3C and the team will need a really good #2C. |

I was just suggesting that he be a top end center (meaning #1 or #2 center).

He would have been available at the pick that they traded to Buffalo, who selected Swedish F Issac Rosen |
