If it was a bottom six player sure go to the farm but do you think Canucks have a top six player on the farm? Would be sort of a dumb thing to have a top six NHL skilled player playing on the farm while you clearly need that skill at the NHL level. - VANTEL
Podz can be in the top 6. He might be a 3rd wheel but he can contribute there with his skill set. He’s just getting the development time now in AHL that he missed being benched in the KHL. |

As someone who doesn’t always back read, I’m genuinely unsure who you’re referring to.
I’ve seen rosterhawk be critical, but he’s probably in the other blog still… - dbot

So you are saying players have gone from the AHL to a top 6 NHL player.
and that some players should be tried - manvanfan
Not to top 10 teams. Teams like Arizona teams of past years, sure.
I guess with your no replay of who is a top six player on Abby answers my question to you.

Not even close. Last years team sure this years, no way.
He could play bottom six but why not let him finish the training.

He has been mentioned a few times, I'd be happy for him for Kuzmenko swap. Lots of playoff experience and clutch goal-scorer.

I said a bunch of names in the first post.
The question is what are the requirements?

Not this year, but I haven't given up on him doing that eventually. Hopefully he comes back and looks good enough to contribute and start to earn icetime.

JR/PA and Pitts connection seems to a thing. I think it was JR who drafted him?

I think the Canucks staff did a great job using analytics to find deals on players who were not in demand and play good defensive hockey while still being very versityle. Suter and Blue mostly. These were a great score and not so obvious targets. |

Podz Bains nor Karlsson are top six players (at least not right now). They would not move the needle and at best they would maintain the status.

I would like to hear what Dhaliwal considers a top 6 player, as I believe what the team needs on the 1st 2 lines is a player that is a bit abrasive, crashes the net and can pot 15 goals a season, could use a player like that on both the top 2 lines.
On the Miller line specifically, maybe someone who can be a bit of a puck distributor, as well as above mentioned. On the Pouty line, he needs someone better than 3rd liner Mikheyev
I am fine with them moving Lafferty, Hoglander, Suter and before injury, PDG in and out of those 2 lines. - Reubenkincade
And trade Kuz. |

He has all the tools but lacks confidence. He has a very good shot, he can pass, great on the puck, some slick moves. What he is lacking so far is hockey IQ.

Are they going to get there by never playing in the NHL? |

Yup! Realistically speaking, it's a big gamble to take but if you want to make a run and get at least to round 2 in the playoffs that is the guy you need. Not sure if just Kuzmenko gets it done though, he is pretty damb elite.

The successful ones get there when the time is right for both the team and the player. |

Podz has 118 NHL games. Far from never. He just needs to get back up to the level he was playing before his injury and he'll be a good option.
Bains is only 1st year pro. 26 games... no hurry.

Podz was rushed into the NHL. He should have been developed better. Not much different than Hoglander. Who after some time developing is now seeing top 6 time.
Bains had 66 AHL games last season. |

But you are suggesting throw them into the deep end head first. Next year look at them as bottom six and see how they adapt. If they are ready then move them up.

He is a little older and has more experience than a lot of the others. I'd guess that Aman gets back into the line up before Karlsson does. Hoglander will just get back with Miller and Boeser. |
