Pretty true. You hear it from people that go to Euro sporting events that it's different. - manvanfan
I know a girl that went to game 7 Canucks/Bruins because her boyfriend paid $5K for her ticket. It was the first hockey game she watched all year. Those same playoffs, I had to explain what an offside was to the person next to me. |

Bedard out with fractured Jaw. - manvanfan
Unfortunate for him but there was nothing wrong with that hit. That’s hockey, hitting is allowed. |

I read that a few of the NJD studs are out. But I’ll wait for NyN to let us know the latest. - dbot

It might be more the hockey and basketball crowds in NA that seem the least interested in the play at all times. NFL seems as if the crowds are loud and not just on the phones.
Watching a euro soccer game, the people are invested in every single game
Basketball in NA feels more like a status thing to be at a game. Not for all but a better portion of people. |

Seen a bunch of things on twitter how hockey is now USA's game because they won a junior gold medal this year. Canada has won it 3 times in the past 5 years USA twice.
Canada, I don't know who picked the team but person(s) should be fired or never allowed to chose again.
Was unfortunate that they didn't get Bedard, Korchinski, Benson, Fantilli to play.
Should be a wake up call for Hockey Canada. |

We don't need to win every year, that's boring. I thought it was a good tournament for the kids that played in it. Hockey Canada doesn't need to "wake up", they just didn't have the most talented team this year, it happens. The kids that graduated to pro hockey don't need to come back and play, they've moved on, so should everyone else.
I just wish the Americans could win with class, they're a bunch of ass-holes when they win. |

I agree. Sadly we’re in an era where US just has better and is producing more top players. I’m looking forward to USA vs Canada though!! |

Jeff Paterson@patersonjeff
and there likely goes Bedard's first visit to Vancouver on Jan 22
Chevy the Golden@chevy_GRR
All the people that paid a premium got suckered. Saw him play at the CHL Prospects game last year…he did nothing. Fortunately I didn’t have to pay for the $60 ticket to that.
Chevy the golden (retriever) is unhappy for people that got tickets to watch Bedard in Vancouver. |

Jets are for real and doing it all without their top scorer. Big things. - LordHumungous
I remember a few weeks back I said Jets are Canada's hottest team and some arrogant twat from the North posted the standings to show Canucks were leading the league even though the Jets had like 20 games in hand to still be played.

Fair enough, but they don’t need to win at all costs, it’s not life or death. It’s just a bunch of kids playing hockey. Some of the young Canadian kids had a good tournament and showcase themselves well. Hopefully they get another shot next year. |

I don’t know what that means, but I’m sure it makes sense to you. |

It’s funny, the Jets got rid of Wheeler and Pierre Luc-Dubois, two of their better players, but locker room cancers, and they got better. You just gotta find the right mix, but you can still be talented with different players. Kind of like whem the Canucks got rid of Horvat and brought in Filip Hronek - Pacificgem
Hronek is a decent add. If they can sign him for six mil then it will be a good trade.

lol this road trip will define much for the Canucks this season IMO. It's a big one. I'm happy for both clubs but it appears this Jets club means business.
Flames losing right now and hopefully we see a bounce back win from the Canucks today. |

First part is bang on. As Kman pointed out yesterday Flames have not lost in 2024 and are coming on as are the Oilers.
Jets Canucks Oilers Flames playing well
Leafs Sens and Habs not so much.

I've heard the Habs have the next dozen greatest defencemen in hockey history coming. They will have a log jam of defenders next season.
Flames are also losing right now. |
