Have to wait & see til he plays more games as a winger. Lol

Serious question who is better between the 2?

How much C does Nylander play?

Has a higher ceiling probably but at C he has some warts still. Sucks on the dot & slows down the play too much. Not the play driver WN is. Better on D but looking slower lately.

EP is falling down and being pushed around way too much. Has to help his own cause.

He has played C but doesn’t suit him. Better as a winger with his speed & hands. Lethal play driver if given any space & goes East West with the best of them.

Centre of gravity is poor. Needs to work out with Hoagie lol.

Notice on the wing idk if he fell down even once tonight.

If Sens choose to shake it up I’d call about Pinto & a few others.

But Petey can play wing and produce large no problem and is still a legit top 6 C regardless of the arguments about if he is #1 or #2 or top 10(Rutherford says top 5)....

So I say Petey is the better player with more upside still like you mentioned.

Edit: Petey has broken 100 points, Nylander hasnt.

Definitely top 6 but still not quite a 1C yet meaning elite. Generally never a fan of paying wingers top $ but WN is one of those rare wingers a line dominates with. I expect top 6 C’s to do that to be legit. Eg Krejci was underrated but as a 2C he was pretty effin good all around & never got enough credit. Cheap also.

Petey is not top 5.

100pts is a great number but that’s it. Nylander will get 100 this year & currently cheaper than Petey.

Nylander can be a 1 man zone entry player. Petey hasn’t quite got there yet.

Barkov
Crosby
Hughes

All ahead of Petey

He said this recently when discussing if there has been any development in contract negotiations of all times. I cringed.

Will take the win the Canucks made it close after being in control. Guess hard to break such a 10 year long losing streak type curse against the Devils.

There were good things with the new lines but with caveat against Devils being injury riddled plus less Jack and back to back games. So not sure what to make of game especially after allowing Devils to score to make it close.

What to make of it…

Take the win & forget about a lousy last 15mins of the game. Next game coming up. 1 game at a time.

RT has some roster things to sort out. Gotta clean up a few things.

The game was fully under control & a fantastic road game until the 2 lousy penalties opened the door.

Coachella is the New Jersey of the AHL to the Canucks. Have they ever won a game vs them. Down 2-0 tonight.

Nylander is at a career .86 ppg playing on a O gifted team.

Petey is 1.01 playing on a clunker for his career.

Nylander has almost 200 games more experience and Petey is still a better point producer with more upside still.

We could use Abby having a prospect step up & lead. Too bad best prospects are not in Abby.

All true 👍

We coulda had Willy where he shoulda been picked. JV facepalm lol

At this juncture playing at C is Petey’s saving grace the way WN is playing. That said talking about some damn good players any team would want.

I'd welcome a game breaker like Willy on our team.

Heavy rumour WN getting 8/11.5m.
Not a good comparable some suggest for Petey. Different position & type of players. If Petey got stronger on his feet & more speed then his skill sets would make him elite.

Can he do it? Yes

His frame imo won’t allow him to get as beasty as I’d like. So rather see him better at puck possession especially put more sauce on x ice passes.

His size speed reach & hands creates plenty of danger. Lazy D his only knock. Panarin 2.0 but bigger

Kuz had himself a solid game. Didn’t notice any gaffs or lazy D.

Has some nice hands on some board battles but struggled a bit on sniping. Good signs though.

There were a lot of people poopting on the Sedins for not being strong on their feet and wouldn't even consider that they would get stronger and learn better balance. But they did. Lots of time for a intelligent dedicated kid like Petey to figure it out.
