Don’t see a top 6 on the farm or a 3rd wheel that can help. Bains be my closest guy to try out. Either work it out from within with Kuz or trade him is my best scenarios. I wouldn’t force a trade using patience instead choosing to build on this season going for it next year.

I suspect it would be a temp solution at best while they shop for a good trade.
Of course if your coaches are reluctant to give a player top 6 ice time who isnt up to their standards away from the puck, they will just end up on the 4rth line and a safer player from the 4rth line will be plopped in the top 6. So in the end, it makes little difference. Not just that, but the offensive player from the farm will be judged by his out of role performance on the 4rth line in the end.

Petey and Likker are going to be a thing after the SHL finishes. There will be videos of them fishing and boating in the Summer. They will let Nils tag along. PA has it all figured out. - VANTEL
Pouty can give the death stare and Lickher can give the lecture on how mean you were. |

So was not trading Kuz at the TDL. Got him for nothing... had a dump truck of goals, entry level contract that any playoff team could fit, was due for a 5x raise.... Canucks were out of the playoff pic.
Big miss on that one. - boonerbuck
Agreed.
Remember how many were drooling about his contract extension? |

Yup yup rush in another prospect.

Canucks play NJ Tomorrow, I fully expect Kuzmenko to play, as Devils are a pretty soft team. |

Listened to a interesting hockey conversation out on the ice a couple of mornings ago. A couple of parents said they won't let their kids watch NHL hockey anymore because of the ridiculous number of gambling advertisements. Then an older couple said the same thing about their grandkids. There was comments from others that the advertisement pressure was so intense they are thinking of leaving hockey viewership themselves.
Last season there was constant hockey talk on the ice but no one was talking about the gambling pressure yet.
I think the NHL are (frank)ing themselves. |

It's stupid, how much money could they really be getting for those advertisements as compared to viewership numbers which would affect how much they get from Rogers (if they ever renew after this season when the contract is up) or from NBC, ESPN or whoever else is interested in the TV rights. |

I know a person who lost their father to suicide over gambling. He gambled everything away. Wife left him and raised my friend on her own. Father couldnt sort it out and took his life. Gambled right to the end.
I sometimes think about how many people who struggle or struggled with gambling addiction are watching the NHL pound this poop into them. They basically have to give up watching the shameless NHL.
I also wonder if it's going to hurt youth recruitment eventually? Parents choosing something less cancerous. I mean, even during a youth tournament like the WJC.... there it was.... gambles gamble gamble.

I must just tune them out because I barely notice them and can not say they have made me want to gamble at all. People are so mentally weak though I'm not surprised. Lots of people has gambling problems well before hockey put ads out. |

It’s a huge factor in NHL revenue!!
——————————————————————
Study: NHL sponsorship revenue grows by 21% for 2022/23 season
League saw biggest YoY sponsorship revenue growth of all other major sports properties.
The National Hockey League (NHL) saw a 21 per cent year-over-year (YoY) rise in sponsorship revenue to reach US$1.28 billion for the 2022/23 season, according to SponsorUnited’s latest study of the North American ice hockey property.
Confirmed:
League had a record 70 sponsors for the 2022/23 season, according to the NHL Marketing Partnerships Report 2022/23
Team sponsorship revenue in the media sector grew by 108 per cent
Revenue in the sports betting and fantasy space went up by 66 per cent
Betting and daily fantasy sponsorships increased by 185 per cent for the 2022/23 campaign
Teams also saw their sponsorship earnings from the financial sector increase by 34 per cent
335 brands embraced community-based initiatives, with many attributed to healthcare and financial brands
More than 700 brands were advertised on digitally enhanced dashboards (DEDs) this season
Auto category is the most prominent sector among DEDs representing 15 per cent of all brands and 21 per cent of all purchased assets
Context:
Sponsorship data and advertising services firm SponsorUnited tracks more than 1.1 million sponsorships and endorsements for 250,000 brands. The NHL’s 21 per cent growth in sponsorship revenue was found to outpace all other major professional sports leagues, including the National Football League (NFL) which had a 14 per cent YoY increase.
Comment:
“The NHL took an bold, multi-pronged approach to revolutionize sponsorships, and it paid off with a 21 per cent lift in team revenues year-over-year, out-performing industry expectations,” said Bob Lynch, SponsorUnited founder and chief executive.
“[The NHL’s] big bet to introduce DEDs is one of the first great examples in sports marketing of how AI is changing how brands interact with consumers. Over 700 brands activated a DED in just the first season, and we’re seeing some teams generating as much as 25 per cent more revenue in dashboard signage alone.”
Coming next:
The strong TV viewership for the 2023 Stanley Cup playoffs may convince more brands to make use of the DEDs for next season.

“Beer brands were the second-largest spender with the NHL and more than doubled spending from the 2020-21 season. Healthcare companies spent the third most amount, while sports betting companies and casinos are now among the NHL’s biggest financial contributors.”
Huge!! From an Athletic article. A big part of the reason the salary cap is going up. |

It's not really that simple.
Young people are easily influenced and the number of ads both in commercials, in the audio, in the text on and on is insane. Even a power play is brought to you by etc etc etc. If advertisements didnt influence, why would they pay so much to advertise? It's their intention to recruit gamblers... or trigger gamblers into gambling more. It's cancerous and people know it. Children shouldnt be subject to a super aggressive ad campaign for something as negative as that.

The Jets have top spot in the west now. Van slipped to 3rd. Still 2 points up on Vegas and we have a game in hand. |
