Refs should just have worn Flyer orange. It be easier to tell the teams apart. - K-man25
He could have evened up the Hathaway penalty as Markstrom threw 3 punches….so easy on the zebra’s… |

I hear you! I miss seeing hockey games like this. I remember being pumped all week waiting for a Flyers/Pens game. - Don Nachbaur
It’s just not the same game. I miss the Flyer games pre 2010. Just my opinion. |

Referees just like having another Flyer out there. Great job Refs! - K-man25
There was definitely a discrepancy in PP time but the Flyers simply did a better job at drawing penalties in this game. They also let Markstrom go for two clear shots.

One of the funnest games I can remember is the Ottawa flyers brawl of 04. I really enjoyed that brand of hockey. I find it very sanitized now.
Also, loved at the end when laughts and tk were barking with Anderson. You could see tk repeatedly saying you’re a (frank)ing female genitalia. Haha |

Yea it's not the same. I still enjoy watching hockey but miss the feisty games & rivalries. Gotta love the old Patrick Division! I loved the shot of the sticks and gloves on the ice at the end of the game today.

Funny….I do as well. Me and my buddy attended the next game in Philly when they met…..crickets. |

Yes I'll never forget watching the Ottawa game! I even recorded it on the good old VCR. Good times! |

As I said awhile ago, just get it over with and make TK the captain. This dude just brings it every night! Thanks! |

Bill, curious your thoughts on cutters tournament. Many trying to label him a playmaker, watching the games that was not the case. Not saying he was bad, he was fine, but I was hoping to see a much more assertive player. Most of his tournament was like the gold medal game, just a guy in the lineup. - ClaudeFather
He's not a playmaker. He is, and will remain, a shoot-first player. He's a good passer if you overplay him to shoot and if there's a lane but that's not the same thing. I see him a lot like JVR, actually. |

Full credit has to go to Brad Shaw for having the entire blue line to overachieve. I'm hoping after some of the Dmen get traded at the deadline, Andrae gets recalled. I still believe Andrae can become a regular in the top 6. |

I guess you could have that type of player at center with a dynamic playmaker like michkov on his flank |

Can you imagine all the hype over Gauthier, and he turns into a JVR....not knocking JVR, but that is not what I am hoping he becomes at all.
With the Flyers luck..Gauthier will become JVR and Michkov become Zherdev...lol |

I’m not sure why Gauthier should be expected to be anymore than a jvr. I don’t get the hype. |

Not just the Flyers. Some of those Avs-Wings series of 25 odd years ago were gold. Two ridiculously stacked teams full of gritty players who hated each other. Hockey was so much more intense in my memory from those times.
I dunno know though if those games felt more intense because I was much younger, or the games were more physical (which made them more intense?) or whether Flyers being relevant in those days gave everything an edge. Or maybe parts of all 3. |

I’m only stirring the pot. Flyers deserved the win, Markstrom kept it closer than it was. |

The last thing the flyers need is JVR 2.0.
I’ve heard CG has a bit of a mean streak so if that’s the case that’s a plus over JVR. |

5 on 5 the game was pretty evenly played. The Flyers shot advantage was mostly on the PP. If the Flyers had even a decent PP, it wouldn't have been a close game like it was.

Haha ok. Weird seeing a Vancouver fan stick up for the flames. Maybe the flames should learn how to check someone cleanly and then not be babies after they lose. |

I believe Gauthier has a better shot off the rush, while JVR had great hands in close. I see more Jeff Carter, even if Gauthier cannot play center. Above average speed with wrist that can best a goalie from anywhere.
