I think I could make the argument the Flyers have a better blue line. Leafs could be a playoff team that actually could need Walker and Seeler as a pairing. The Flyerss have 2 salary retention slots. Nah, just won't happen...... 😀

Well, they’re going to need to go all in this year again. I’m just not sure what prospects we could get from them but I’d for sure trade both. The leafs will need depth.

I do wonder if Briere would want Knies as part of the return. He is the profile of a winger the Flyers do not have in their top 6. Trade deadline is going to be very interesting.

One of those guys you trade for because of the last name.

I was at that game in '04 and the building seemed to shake with everybody going crazy. That game still holds the NHL record for the most penalty minutes in a game. Everybody on the ice fought, including both goalies. Even Handzus was throwing punches.

That's awesome you were there! Plus Somik and Timander dropped the gloves, and who could ever forget "down goes Spezza" courtesy Patrick Sharp. I watch the clips of that game on youtube a few times a year. Such a classic!

how many prior conversations did those 2 already have?
- hello it's me 2050

Apparently none, they never talked according to Torts. If true that blows me away.

I could have sworn they have and reported in this blog. How torts told him what was expected and the like. I have a hard time believing this is the 1st time they talked or met.

I know those on here who hate Torts will not care, but I thought Torts' comments about Frost today were very revealing. He said he does not take pleasure in benching players but he feels it brings things to a head and starts a conversation and ultimately give the coaches a chance to help the player. He said Frost is a great kid who is very quiet and unassuming, and just was raised not to talk to coaches. However apparently after the benching last game they did talk and it went well. I know from experience you can't coach someone if they are not ready to listen. I thought Frost was obviously much more noticeable in this game, went to the dirty area of the ice for the first goal, and was a bit lucky on the PP assist, but I think he was shooting for a tip in by Couts which is why the puck went so far wide of the net. I really do hope Torts and Frost build a better relationship from this and Frost gets back to what he did last season at this time. The Flyers need his offense and playmaking.

Well yeah, because a coach doesn't have a chance to help a player unless the player is benched. LOL You're implying that Frost has not been willing to listen when all reports on Frost in his entire career as a Flyers. were that he has been very open and receptive to coaching and has always worked hard to implement what the coaches want from him.
