If you look at the PPG % of Nylander and Pastrnak from the final 3 years of their previous contract (the one Nylander is finishing I mean) it’s bang on. Nylander simply has to finish the year the way he’s been playing it. If he tapers off so will his price. - Dozzer
It won't if the extension comes soon, as is rumoured. Which, the guy giving him the pen to sign hasn't exactly inspired confidence at what that contract will look like. |

Yeah, I wasn't gonna take it on but the guy went how many years without a single goal in the playoffs? How many stupid plays and penalties which cost the team on the way?
The only time someone can muster up an argument to say he was the only player to show up in a series he was basically on par with a couple other players...
All for the low low cost of a top 10 cap hit in the entire league. - joel878
Two, but he isnt a scorer. Still has 47pts in 50 games.
Ive said many times he is paid too much imo.
His 3pts helped the leafs actually win a game |

The only victory the leafs had was because of Marner. Had a great game.
Maybe not so much the other 4 games. - Fakepartofme
Fair, but to say he was the only Leafs player to show up does not seem fair. Espcecially since 3 of the games were 1 goal losses and 2 went to OT.

Hasn’t the rumour been a disagreement on a NTC?
Which makes it funny since nothing even close to that will have been shared lol |

He was better last year than in years past, but his 14 pts is also misleading.
6 pts in his first 2 games both 7-3 blowouts - jribout
Which goes back to my original point, a big chunk of the names on that list have been a catalyst in driving their teams to the end of the road. Marner has yet to do anything that's even close to doing that and he's the highest paid of the bunch.
He's not a difference maker and he shouldn't be paid a difference maker's salary. He still has, he's collected his bucks. It's time to either earn that cheque, extend at a non difference makers salary, or jog right on somewhere else. |

Definitely not a scorer, he was paid 10.9 million to go a literal calendar year without a single goal on one the leagues better powerplays.
Theres unfortunately more memorable moments out there of Mr puck over the glass making a play that factored into them losing a game when it counted than there is of winning. |

Ok agreed. Based on that (points) i mispoke, my error. But he hasn't been a "detriment".
I just remember him being the reason they won their only game and no one outside of morgan stood out really stoud out in my memory.

I've seen a lot of different info out there, I genuinely read today that the hold up is his dad wanting him to wait until the summer to sign. Silly stuff out there.
If I had to guess, it would be that the hold up is huge contracts take a lot of time 🤷 |

If Marner could just pass the puck onto Matthews stick instead of into his skates, Matthews would be a lock for 50 in 50. |

They’ve agreed to wait and trade the amount made off of the inflated cost for advertising from the coverage that carries it.
They’ve had a deal setup for 3 years lol |
