Gauthier will play LW in Anaheim. Expect him to slot in on the 2nd line with McTavish and either Vatrano or a RW to be named later. Zegras, Carlsson and Terry on the first line. Ducks might actually score a few goals next year. |

Cutter is a POS punk w a bad attitude. Hope he fails miserably in Anaheim! What a female dog - DanielEtvs He should fit right in with the rest of the Leftist wombats. Seeing that guitar National Anthems last week, you gotta think that he'll fit in with that commune.

Gauthier didn’t want to play in Philly because: 1) The Flyers are terrible 2) The Flyers fans are terrible to players 3) The Philadelphia media is terrible to players 4) John Tortorella is miserable to play for 5) They haven’t won a Cup in 46 years. |

I think in the long term, the Ducks made a wise move. (Probably hurt for this season, but we ain't going anywhere anyway....)
Look at the very young "offensive" defensemen they have in the system right now. Besides Drysdale, they have Mintyukov, Luneau, and Zellwegger.
How many can you actually play on an NHL roster at one time?! It seems inevitable that one (or more) needed to be moved at some point. With this move they got a high level forward prospect, who should slot in quite nicely....somewhere... in the lineup.
Given that the Ducks haven't used Zellwegger at all yet at the NHL level, I kind of thought he might be the odd-man out. But I also understand that a team like Philly, giving up high level prospect, may not be interested in taking the chance on untested Zellwegger....so the Ducks probably didn't have a choice in the matter. |

Ducks have a lot of talent still yet to make roster and I wouldn't be surprised if they drafted Levshunov or Richardinson in the upcoming draft.

Philly fan in full delusion mode.
Drysdale's ceiling is Sam Girard.
Drysdale will never make an impact in the second round or beyond of the playoffs for his team, like Girard.
Verbeek wins in a landslide. |

Or perhaps they can really move to KC this time? bunch of frontrunning loser fans. |

I think it's a good trade for both teams.
I suspect Gauthier didn't want to come here because he didn't want to be forced to be held accountable for his play, no matter what his talent level is (see: Morgan Frost).
Torts wants to play his system, and holds his players accountable if they don't.
While Gauthier is undeniably talented, he's definitely used to being the "big fish in the pond", and being creative. That's not going to fly under Torts, and may not fly in the NHL at all
Anaheim is stacked on D.
They can afford to trade a D-man for Gauthier, and hopefully allow him to be creative on the ice. Maybe he fits, maybe he doesn't.
Gauthier didn't want to come to Philly. So Philly traded him for a solid, young D-man, and let's not forget....a 2nd rounder.

The vibe I'm getting from all this is like Dubois staying silent and giving these passive answers as to why he wanted to get traded. Because of course it had something to do with Torts.
Fast forward to Briere saying Gauthier was thrilled to be a Flyer, only to ghost them ( I'm really not familiar with this side of the story), I don't blame Philly for doing what needed to be done. At the end of the day he and his agent will have to do some PR somersault to explain themselves out of this one and fix his image.

A RHD with high end potential. Exactly what the Flyers need.
What you're all failing to recognize is the history of the Flyers. They'll still end up with Cutter Gauthier. When he's overpaid and past his prime at age 35. |

What was Adam Fox or Jimmy Vesey's issue? Hell, we can go for basically the same type of player with the draft pedigree and hype in Blake Wheeler. Torts being in the NHL at some level?
The NCAA has their rules (SHL/SM-liiga etc. also have similar rules) and players can and will use them. It sucks for the Flyers, but they're getting a player with amazing potential if he can get healthy. |

I was speculating concerning Torts, he is traced to some reasons a player wants out from a team.
At least Fox and Vesey returned calls and were clear in their intentions. If he was thrilled to be drafted by the Flyers then goes off on a 180 and wants nothing to do with them, it's really strange circumstances. |
