lets say they didnt, tells you what think of Jamie to let him go for possibly noting. - hello it's me 2050
I can't say for nothing...if Gauthier won't play there, and I believe he will, they would still have his rights and be able to trade him wherever too. His talent level doesn't change.
The Ducks are loaded on defense prospects and Drysdale was #4 on their list from what I can see, so he was basically considered expendable by the Ducks. The second rounder is just that..a pick at this time. |

Torts seemed to suggest that they'll play seven and carry eight. He doesn't think any of the current six deserve to come out and they won't disrespect Staal by waiving him. - Tomahawk
Fine with it in the interim. Whatever takes Deslauriers out of the lineup is a positive. But really hope this accelerates a Walker trade and/or (wishful thinking) a Risto trade. |

You can't be surprised if a skilled offensive forward took a look at how Torts has treated Frost, and said no thanks, bro. Going into last night's contest, Frost had scored 52 points in his last 82 games, and yet Torts has healthy scratched him over and over again while less productive players almost never get the night off.
Good luck to you, Cutter. You made a wise decision. - Feanor
Briere literally said that Cutter didn’t want to play here after that world’s last summer. He also didn’t want to be here for rookie camp. None of this has anything to do with Morgan Frost. |

Love Sanheims comments
“Obviously if somebody doesn’t want to be here we’re happy to have a guy that does,” Sanheim said. “The only thing that I had heard (about Gauthier) was not wanting to be at (development camp). Obviously as a player in this locker room, that was something that stayed with us. For as long as I’ve known, you show up to development camp, whether you skate or not. If he doesn’t want to be here, we’re happy to move on.” - bradster
This pretty much goes for any player in the league. |

if he requested a trade in the summer of 2022 how does the Frost situation play any part? |

Lots of work there to collect all that info in one place, thanks and appreciated.
Nothing new, but also interesting to some of the same questions and points.

Someone last night said Cutter has Lindros attitude and Gagne skill. Let Cutter demand like Lindros, I wish him good luck in Anaheim or where ever he ends up, and hope we just got our Forsberg.
I really don't understand why people who are supposed fans of this franchise invent reasons to find fault with them in this scenario. Cutter exercised his perceived rights as a top prospect, Flyers exercised their rights to owning the rights to said prospect. Not all prospects work out and I'm much happier with this result to a first rd pick than say NP, German, Morin, JOB, etc.
Obviously we won't know who won this deal for years to come, but a RH top 4 Dman is on everyone's wish list and we just got one.

I don't have an answer for that, especially since I'm not privy to conversations, but to act like this is a "Flyers problem" is a bit naive. Columbus, Arizona have reps, but does that look bad for them? I guess that's up to the person and their perception. It's a professional team that pays LOTS of money to play a fun game, I'm not worried about which teams are players favorites...just win and get paid. - Glak18
you said it happened with a sabres player. It would look bad for any team to have a high pick say piss off. |

There are two sides to every story obviously, but wouldn't surprise me a bit if it turns out that Hayes has a hand in this if these guys are close. Hayes felt wildly disrespected here, so why wouldn't he have a vendetta against the Flyers organization. - Phillywhiteout
Hayes helped convince Krug not to waive his NTC. Which worked out great for Philly.
Win some, lose some.

I have no doubt Hayes told him about his time in Philly. I personally do not think Hayes actively tried to steer Cutter away from Philly. - mickel25
Probably and if Gauthier and Hayes are friends and Gauthier asked Hayes about playing in Philly under Tortorella, I would think that Hayes would give him his honest opinion. Wouldn't anyone? Probably not favorable but that's completely different from trying to actively influence Gauthier and steer him away from Philly. This is Gauthier's decision. |

It is virtually impossible that with competent professional representation in today's world, an agent will allow client to ghost employer for long periods, that too at start of career.
This combined with the alacrity with which Danny and co. are selling this story to get out ahead of further news developments makes me suspect strongly, as Ek would say, that there is MORE TO COME. |

Drysdale was #4 what? He was their top pairing RHD with Fowler playing 20-21 minutes a night. Yes, he got injured, which is concerning, but don't paint the picture as if they lost nothing. Anaheim has some nice depth, but it's mostly all on the left side.

Hate the 11 forwards 7 D alignment. One injury in game and you are essentially down to 3 lines.
That said Deslauriers is awful and should not see the ice. - PLindbergh31
Dressing Deelo is basically going with 11 forwards anyway |

The real context is "matter of months" AFTER he was drafted....before organizational changes...not the last few months. - Glak18
From the inquirer:
That draft was in July 2022. Brière said that sometime between then and last May, when Gauthier was starring for Team USA. at the 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship — he had seven goals in 10 games in that tournament — Gauthier decided that he didn’t want to play for the Flyers anymore. Brière and president Keith Jones came on board as the organization’s new leadership team that same month, May 2023, but a source with knowledge of the situation said Monday night that Gauthier had soured on the Flyers before Brière and Jones were hired.
Just back up what you said. |

It happens with every team where players and teams don't see the same thing and players want out. Like I said earlier trying to selectively pick apart what you want to paint to make the Flyers look bad is your prerogative, but there isn't going to be an exact situation that is going to line up with this...not even Adam Fox is the same as this....did Calgary look bad? Doesn't matter anymore. Did Montreal look bad with Patrick Roy? It really doesn't matter because Roy was a diva dbag anyway. The game doesn't get dictated by one single player.

In these types of cases it seems that the players have one specific place they really want to go to... like Blake Wheeler and Boston, Fox/Vesey/Hayes and NY.
Wouldn't surprise me if Cutter wants to be a Pen or something and Anaheim ends up getting burned too. |

that's what I thought as well. Others have said it was in summer of 2022.
That being said I think at best the Frost situation played a very very minor part, if any at all in his decision making process.
In time a lot more will come out. Liekly once he signs with the ducks. Be funny if he leaves BC in the next week........ |

it does not happen all the time where top picks request out before they play 1 game. That is a simple fact. |
