Why is that coaching, and not just poop play/mistake by the player? - Chunk
At emotional times during a game coaches can anticipate players might try to do too much and coach them to stay structured and in good position. |

Raddysh is dumb AF and soft . And D1ickerson is a plug. Also is 28. Unless you believe he will continue to shoot in excess of 22% for the rest of his career.

Hahaha, actually i thought he played a lot of good shifts today, he got caught flat footed at center ice in that last goal against but he played many good shifts tonight. |

I appreciate your passion Steve and your frustration. It sucks they lost, i was rooting for them the entire game like i always do. - BetweenTheDots
Me too. I started to think they might eek it out. |

He is KD's 1st draft choice. Of course he will be around. Teams need 3rd pair PP guys, too.
Tho, haven't seen anything to make me think he is going to good on the PP. |

I'm not, i think he's a good 3rd line player that would be a nice heavy player to have on this roster when we get more talent on this team.
I'm not sold yet on Raddysh but since he's come back from injury he's playing well defensively. |

They are being very stubborn and short sighted not sending him back to juniors for the rest of the season. |

I think that it’s too late for that now. They need him to be tutored by Kevin Dean, and sit in the press box here and there to recalibrate. |

Richarderson is a 10 or so minute guy at best. Heavy? He is not good along the walls.
I want better talent than either one of those guys. |

Of course he hasn’t. NHL coaches don’t have time to work on fundamentals that should have learned in junior or college hockey. Unfortunately he lost a year of development where he could have worked on the weak points of his game. But he’s up now and hopefully he can pick up some things as he plays. I suspect he’ll be in the AHL next season working on his game, hopefully without impacting his confidence too much. |

Interesting thought. I'd have to look real closely at it and of course like that Pinto is a centerman and IIRC has good size. ........ I would say however Reichel is more skilled, a much better skater and has a higher ceiling. From what I remember Pinto tops out as a middle 6er but more likely a 3C. - Mr Ricochet
Eh, I dunno that Reichel has shown anything significantly better to say his ceiling is anything but a third line fast winger.
Guys that score 20 goals their rookie year generally are pretty skilled. |
|
|
|
I think Pinto would be a great get, but instead of Reichel, how about for a second and a third? - LAHawk
Ottawa would probably want a NHL or close to NHL player. The should theoretically be out of the drafting guys stage (theyre a cap team about) and in the get the right guys to compliment Stuztle, TheChuck and Chychrun stage. |

Always tempting to see if a trade can be broadened with our objective to move up in the ‘24 Entry Draft. Simply swap our 2nd for their first and maybe an exchange of one prospect going the other way for both teams. It is something to consider as it resolves moving a player(s) either team is unsatisfied with. The early 2nd is how many slots up from their first /or of gaining that pick we now have three first round selections. Should the lottery balls put us any choice after #3 overall, while we have assets this year GO FOR the top two forwards in this ‘24 draft
A means to an end is to establish two young forwards together or on separate top two lines.
Maybe Moore or Hayes will one day be a top six. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel which is a competitive playoff team. We may very well revamp and improve bottom lines primarily when prospects are ready but it is hardest to find available and draft top six forwards
Go for it. Ottawa represents a team more likely to exchange draft choices. They also would like to pay less salary? Do Pinto subtraction and Reichel add might be of interest
Of course there may be no trade the top two teams in the draft is willing to consider. Nonetheless we would then have three of the top quality picks in round one. Where odds is more likely to get difference makers
BTW check out the TOI and inexperience Montréal has been going with (and will continue) the entire season on their blue line. It is working out ok for them, so maybe we can expect the same approach could work for us. As early as next season - jhawk59
Ottawa is in the prime move a bigger salary to send a message kind of position.
Maybe they would move a Bratherson or Norris to send a message and shake up the roster a bit. The hawks have a really good shoulder guy so I wouldn't be too scared off by Norris.
Zero of their forwards have NMC's so they could say if you wanna be part of this team pull your head out of your ass or we'll send you packing. This guy went to Chicago but Columbus called for you so have fun with all those Ohio state fans.
With the new ownership they have to do something different. That team shouldn't be that poopty.

It really isn't, it's more about successful shifts for these young players for now. The wins are down the road. - BetweenTheDots
Other than Vlasic and Korchinski there aren't a lot of players that should still be around when they don't suck... |

I like Reichels game tonight, i wish he wouldn't be afraid of carrying the puck more he's so quick to look for a pass.
Since coming back from injury i think Raddysh has been playing really nice defense.
I can see why LR likes heavy dmen, it seems the last few games they are frustrating the opposing forwards.
Katchouk plays a really good game but then he makes a slap pass from his own blue line across the front of his own goalie down low, that's a big (frank)ing no no. He really needs to stay on the right side of the puck as well. - BetweenTheDots
I get why the coaches don’t play him more. 85-90% solid plays. Tough, smart, and some legit skill. Other 10-15% just really dumb plays or pure lazy.

Way better to have him playing against men right now. The coaches at the NHL can actually work with him and help him and the improvement has been pretty evident if you pay attention. |
