This would not shock me, he still hasn't made his trade yet. I like Mark I would just need some heavy retention. Also wonder if Leafs value the human aspect and do not want to trade him right now.

So they've been 8-4 in their last 12. It's a tough decision to make - do you write off the team when they have momentum?

I mean ultimately they can't seem to reach a deal with Lindholm, Hanifin or Tanev. There is no impetus to move Markstrom, but he won't be a part of any rebuild either, so there's value in moving him while he has cost control - especially if you can eat some of his $6m salary to make it more palatable. Losing those 3 resets them one way or the other, so it's probably best to eat it now - this isn't a cup team, even if moxy could possibly eke them into the playoffs.

TDL will change a lot.

Leafs are at the dance every year, its hockey don't overthink it. The panthers weren't even in a playoff spot last year this time.

Just focus on your Flyers making it, getting stuck in no mans land 9th-11th is worst case scenario. us leafs fans would know it sets you back years.

They would need to go on quite the run to make it...They are in limbo with their UFA's.

Seems like they want young players over picks which is probably the wrong move but keeps the owner happy.

Bottom line if they leave this TDL with no picks and prospects and keep their UFA's its 100% the wrong move with where they are at.

Eh ok I guess. Oh believe me I know. Need top talent. Michkov should be one but need another and then a #1 D and I have no clue how Danny will do it. Gauthier is an overrated prospect I always felt and drysdale doesn’t look special although his skating is
