He is still a pouty little b!tch. But he has been fantastic the last couple weeks. I guess they need to cater to all of his childish demands if it will get him to produce at an elite level - CanuckDon
I think those were shrewd moves and, like you said above, will need to continue to make similar moves. Hopefully Allvin keeps on rolling. I'm not as hyped on the prospect pool as others. We will see. - bloatedmosquito
I don't think we have superstars as prospects but I do see some very reliable NHL talent.
I think Willander will turn out to be like Ohlund , DPetey will be the next Edler. I don't mean the first year they play but will grow into that type of player.
I see Hoglander as an example. You can still see some flaws but he is growing as the year goes on. Raty has improved same with Podz. Have patience. They will get there.
The coaching staff has really helped but also Brock Hughes Petey Demko are coming into their prime ages. They are facing the perfect storm.
Smart trades like Miller Hronek Zadorov, everything is coming together all at once. OEL dead cap will only be a small inconvenience but as I said will probably save themselves from making some stupid decisions. Much like the Leafs did.
I have always liked Garland he is driving a third line to play like a second line. - VANTEL
I liked him until he started pouting and wanted out. I think the change has made him feel differently. I also don't think he's driving that line alone, it's a group effort, and that's more conductive to his playing style.
Don’t forget OEL came with Garland, not having to worry about who to draft at #9. The rewards are endless. - K-man25
I suppose the reward is a likely Presidents Trophy this season? Beats going for it and signing a bunch of anchor contracts and then realizing you need to rebuild. The great thing about Calgarys downfall is that players don’t want to be there. It’s a cheap ass franchise with a very dark future other than potentially relocation.
Should be at least a decade before the flames are relevant again and that assumes they rebuild correctly. Conroy will fail. Cheers Kman 🙏

I look at when Dakota was being benched and Blueger was injured and they still had the puck possession in the other end most of the time. Now all three are playing like a second line unit and producing. Regardless of what others think (no offence) I think Garland is the main piece. I had seen him do the same in Arizona.

I guess I'm going off of his performance when he got his shot in the top 6. He also took a while to get going. Even on the 3rd line. I also feel Blueger stirs that line from time to time as well as Joshua. Regardless, those 3 have developed a great chemistry.

I like that they aren't handing a lot of term to periphery players. They also seem to have a much better eye for value than Benning ever had. Makes the OEL buyout easier to digest. I also believe this Coaching staff helps as far as maximizing players potentials.
Gotta hand it to Rutherford. He came in with the culture change mantra and he followed through. I think waaay sooner than most expected. - Load Management
Nice work NY. What’s the backstory with him writing now versus that previous clown? - CanuckDon
More or less, I kept female doging about how much Mikey boy sucked and how I could write better blogs, and got pointed into the direction of people who to talk to about that. And then, voila.
The coaching staff has been such a pleasant surprise. Fans were pissed when they signed Tocchet. Dude deserves the Adams - CanuckDon
Tocchet is someone the players, even the biggest d!ck in the room (Miller), had to instantly respect. Boudreau was liked, but he wasn’t respected. Big difference.

Boudreau also was never that good of a coach, despite the bump he gave the team when he was first hired, it didn't help that he was hired without JR/PA's knowledge/approval and therefore a lame duck coach.

Clear front runner for the Jack Adams. Him and the coaching staff have stamped this team.

I think you remember this all wrong.
JR literally told the media he was consulted by FA and said he had Bruce as his top 5 choice(or short list). That was also followed up with JR/PA activating Bruce's option.
That's both knowledge, approval and more or less an extension.

Allvin for GM of the year and Tocchet for coach of the year, they can join Mike Gillis and Alain Vigneault as the most successful GM and coach in Canucks history.
Next up the Sabres, although they may presently be out of the wild card spot by 7pts, they should not be taken lightly. They still have some very talented players such as Thompson and Dahlin, happy to hear Skinner is out injured. These are the types of games we have seen Vancouver struggle with, I really hope that trend is over and while I am hoping and rooting for a Canucks win, I'm certainly not "expecting" one.
Go Canucks Go - Makita
Sabres dangerous offence but weak at keeping the biscuit outta the basket. Start strong play smart don’t look past them. 👍
