I find it hard for the organiztion to want to give Hart a multi yr extension at 6 million or more. It just does not make sense from a cap standpoint for me, based on results from the two. - Trox88
I think an extension at 5 or 6 mil is reasonable. If you just get rid of him, as bill said the other day, there’s no one yet ready to serve as the second guy. Sandstrom and Petersen aren’t the answer. If we have another prospect that is the guy, he’s a ways a way. I do want to see more of a sample from ersson. If he’s like this the rest of the year and next then you likely have your answer that he can handle the full workload as a 1. Trade hart for whatever pick you can get or let him walk to get cap space to supplement the forward corps. |

RIP Glen Cochrane. Loved him as a kid and can still visualize him in the "pants." He was one tough dude. - Don Nachbaur
Underrated player and fighter to me. |

Remember when o was squaking about trading hart and was told no. You see Ersson. Just as good. |

Harts a rfa this year though. I think what people would like to do is trade him and then sign a ufa vet goalie for shorter term and dollar to be the 1B. |

Letting him walk would he absolutely idiotic. Should never get to that place.
Maybe they entertain moving Erson while he has cheap contract. No idea whatsoever what his value even would look like. |

Not for me, there is a bunch of UFA goalies on the market who have started lots of games in the NHL. Definitely a buyer's market. Sign one of them below Ersson's cap hit. I ask myself will Hart's performance make his extension look like a bargain or more like an anchor. |

Yea, I don't get it either. Not every player can be a speedy finesse player, so what's wrong with a guy who busts it every game. You need to have a few physical players in hockey...it's part of the game. - Don Nachbaur
What's it that Freddy 'the Fog' Shero used to say about his coaching style?... "Singers got to sing... dancers have to dance". |

It’s a good point he makes. All the players have their roles and it’s the best team with solid depth that wins. - Hextall271
In basketball, some players are on the team only to block. Some are on the team only to steal. Some players are only on the team to rebound. |

He has decent speed too…and now that we have Drysdale all we need is a Clampett and we’ll have all the characters from The Beverly Hillbillies. - Dkos
All they have to do is trade for Mickael “ Granny” Granlund.

Hart trade value will never reach what it was. That’s why when rebuilding you don’t play (frank) (frank) games. Relying on what future might bring usually backfires. There were many teams looking for a hart type goalie on his deal. |
