He's one of the few consistent difference makers in goal.

A team can play more freely when they know they've got someone in net who will make multiple difficult saves when needed.

While I agree that it can help confidence (and a team can play better because of that), turning a team on pace for 79pts into a 95pt team seems like a jump I wouldn't expect.

I've already boarded the trade Mitts train, he should be a summertime trade asset used for an upgrade. I'd rather use that money on a top line wing or RHD than pay a goalie until they're almost 38yo.

I agree on trading Mitts, Hellybuck would vastly improve this team - I think that contract is more than fair for his consistent performances.

no, coach let the team do their thing in the o zone and try to outscore them

this season he says he is actually trying to coach

so in essence they are better with no coach, based on last season vs having him as a coach

I think we'd be closer to the playoffs, yes.

Levi was/is awful at times. The Sabres have/had the cap space.

Hellebyuck + An actual serious upgrade at D and a middle six FWD to help the scoring regression and were a serious team.
