I don't know if that rumor is true or not but I never thought for a second that they were going to trade Konecny. - MJL
To be fair I don't believe the Flyers even hinted at trading TK ever, it has all been media and fan speculation since TK has the highest value on the team IMO. If this team was in Ottawa or Columbus's spot right now I think TK would be shopped a bit harder.
This year's surprised overachieving season combined with last year's disappointment should be telling the organization who is worth investing in for the longer haul. At least this year they may be able to sell on a higher peak if an offer comes in they like. It's all about timing.

I agree and I also have never seen any sign or hint of it. Which is why I say that. Some fans are advocating for it and I can't say I disagree with them.

i feel if they were truly rebuilding they would trade him, as you mentioned he would bring the most back in a trade. but shows this isn't a true rebuild.

that would be interesting if true - hello it's me 2050
I actually hope it’s true. Will save the Flyers from overspending on each of them. |

Last year, Konecny played well but the Flyers stunk.
This year, Konecny is playing well and so are the Flyers.
So, what changed? In 2 words: Sean Couturier
Couts should be the captain of this team. |

If you believe the possible burner account that called the Gauthier situation, TK won’t resign with the Flyers. Same with Hart and Tippett. If that’s the case, he will absolutely be traded. - psuhockey
Winning in a stable setting cures a lot of that talk. The Flyers have run a quality organization for the most part. They seemed to get away from that after Sniders death but at least are trying to get that back. I do believe that todays athletes aren’t as loyal. I do believe it’s important for teams to provide a quality atmosphere so players become more comfortable playing here. I think all three of those guys can be part of the future, but as we’ve seen of late if they do not want to be here then they won’t be. |

If a GM is going to be any good, he’s going to have to make some tough decisions especially in the salary cap era. I haven’t really seen any from Briere yet. Doesn’t mean he can’t make them but I would like to see some proof. If those guys force his hand like Gauthier, good because he did well under the circumstances to get good value. If they don’t he still should move two of them if the goal is to build a cup team not a playoff revenue team. |

Hayes will score a hat trick and will don a gauthier ducks jersey when he takes his curtain call for being named first star…. - Hextall271

If JD can play and the Flyers were to go with 6D, which defenseman sits? |

Tough call. I think Staal will sit but Torts will still go 11/7. |

Yes I agree if the Flyers were to trade TK now they would get the best return possible, but I just don't see it happening either. TK epitomizes everything this leadership wants this Flyers team to be. I see him if not captain as wearing an 'A' for a long time with this team. |

what do you think is the likelihood of that happening?
then you name a new captain. not a big deal |

I have never seen a more dedicated poster in my life. Cliff is on here every day for 12-16 hours.
We need to recognize his dedication. I would like to name February 1 as the official MJL day going forward. Would like to get some feedback from others to see if this is something we want to recognize.
Maybe Bill can even dedicate a blog to him on that day. - hello it's me 2050

Not sure Torts likes the strong silent type. Konecny runs on piss and vinegar ans got that acid tounge. |

I agree for the most part. Most of DB’s moves so far have not really screamed rebuild. More house keeping. I am disappointed with the over all Gauthier situation but think Drysdale can be a top pair d man….the guy is only 21 and already showing signs.
I agree the tough calls are still to come. I get your preference to move out some quality with an eye for the future. I guess if that’s what he does then the future becomes more murky…which might be a good thing. |

None of the 7 deserve to sit but considering all of the factors from my perspective. Id sit Ristolainen.

Since Coots is my favorite current Flyer (Has been for some time.) I can only agree.
When he is on the ice multiple favorable things happen and that trend is repeatable.
Brave, hard-working, and skilled he trundles out from the tunnel and makes US more exciting and formidable.
How he quietly proceeds to shift the balance of a game is consistently, and competently professional and rewarding to the team and fans. This makes me think he is the irreproducible added element in the success formula that is being witnessed.
Sort of quiet though, eh?
Did He create a long-lasting relationship with anyone on the team, in particular G?
I pay attention but it is sometimes just glancing familiarization.

I really like Tippett but what team in the league is dying for his services? I doubt Tippett wants out and I don’t think he’s proven enough yet to explore other options. |

Of course you would Against a big heavy team like St. Louis, I would not sit Risto, I would sit Seeler. But I agree with you, all 7 are playing really well and don't deserve to sit. I would not be against the Flyers dealing Risto if they can get decent value back. |

Ok, I'm going to hold my nose and root for the dreaded Bruins today against the Devils, so as typical, I bet the Bruins lose. |
