If JD can play and the Flyers were to go with 6D, which defenseman sits? - jd250
Just trade walker now, his value is only going to go down with Drysdale here |

I will be really disappointed if Tippett doesn’t want to resign. |

Last year, Konecny played well but the Flyers stunk.
This year, Konecny is playing well and so are the Flyers.
So, what changed? In 2 words: Sean Couturier
Couts should be the captain of this team. - BiggE
Agreed and if he were to be traded, then you just name another captain. Torts' management of the letters is puzzling at best. |

Ok, I'm going to hold my nose and root for the dreaded Bruins today against the Devils, so as typical, I bet the Bruins lose. - jd250
All I say is no 3 pt games. Just like the rags B2B vs wash. They each took one game in regulation which is fine. |

Of course you would Against a big heavy team like St. Louis, I would not sit Risto, I would sit Seeler. But I agree with you, all 7 are playing really well and don't deserve to sit. I would not be against the Flyers dealing Risto if they can get decent value back. - jd250
you sit the guy who is playing the least amount of minutes. This 7 d rotation is dumb |

Still do not understand hoow Frost draws a struggling rookie and a knuckle dragger and Laughton of all people draws first line. That right three is what is wrong with Tortorella. But at least everyone will play hard
That is why we are blog writers and JT is an NHL coach of 15 years who has this team to 52 pts in January. |

Its pretty simple for me. Ristolainen is now at best, 6th on the depth chart among Flyers defenseman. I'm going to play the kids every game unless there is a reason not to. That means Drysdale and Zamula are in. Then I'm going to play the best 4 veteran players. That means Sanheim, York, Walker and Seeler are in. The only issue is i hope by some miracle, the Flyers can trade Ristolainen and the odds are better at that with him playing. |

I agree for the most part. Most of DB’s moves so far have not really screamed rebuild. More house keeping. I am disappointed with the over all Gauthier situation but think Drysdale can be a top pair d man….the guy is only 21 and already showing signs.
I agree the tough calls are still to come. I get your preference to move out some quality with an eye for the future. I guess if that’s what he does then the future becomes more murky…which might be a good thing. - landros 2
If a team isn’t going to tank, they are going to have to think outside the box and be aggressive. Briere will not have the option to simply trade expiring contracts, sign free agents and use his allotted draft picks like the majority of GMs do in the NHL. That is if the goal is to win a cup and not just keep his job. |

There’s going to have to be one or two bold moves coming up soon. If they want to hit the ground running when michkov arrives |

I have never seen a more dedicated poster in my life. Cliff is on here every day for 12-16 hours.
We need to recognize his dedication. I would like to name February 1 as the official MJL day going forward. Would like to get some feedback from others to see if this is something we want to recognize.
Maybe Bill can even dedicate a blog to him on that day. - hello it's me 2050
I'd be all in to support February 30th... and could possibly be agreeable to February 29th, if approached on it after an all-night bender. 🤔

I don't personally write a blog but I don't see playing Laughton 20 minutes and double shifting him in the 3rd period against Winnipeg as the best coaching decision for this teams future.

Who brings a better return, Walker or Risto? Assuming $$ retention with Risto will be needed. |

They played 3 centers. Double shifting is inherent |

Walker in my opinion although he needs to shore his game up. The Flyers are already looking at potentially 9+M of dead cap space next season. Are they really going to want to take on more?

By double shifting, I mean playing a player every other shift. That's basically what they did. They had 3 centers, correct? A team frequently also typically shortens the bench in certain situations. The point is that there was plenty of available ice time for a player like Frost to get more ice time. To use it for development rather than to overplay a veteran.

Is Drysdale already best buds with Hart? The flyers need a nutritionist and team doctor who helps these guys improve their immune systems. |

Lets hope not, hoping since they won vs Peg, they see this as a chance to let Coots heal, no game after tonight till Thursday. Coots playing a ton of minutes, maybe this is the only way Coots gets some rest.
Did any reporter ask "if this was a playoff game, would he play"? |
