How awesome that would be. Hodgson comes back, kills the AHL, signs with the Canucks, insane playoff run, wins cup, retires. NFL script writer level of amazingness. |

Yeah I think Canucks already have a first and a second line. I would look at upgrading Aman. A shutdown tougher center added.
I like Pius Suter. I consider Kuz and Mikheyev as a line that can use an upgrade. One of them should be on the move. I consider them the third line and I would like a guy like Anderson who has speed and toughness. Mikheyev and a prospect for Anderson.
I am always open for a little Corey Perry entertainment also.
- VANTEL
I think that's what Van is after to move Suter down to the 4th line. Knock Aman to the press box.
Watching Montreal play and Josh Anderson where hockey IQ dies every time he touches the puck. I can't be on board with that. It's like adding Zack Kassian.
If that was the route, Jordan Greenway is near same player but 2.5m less and not 3 more years after, only 1.
Maybe I could interest you in a one Mathieu Joseph from the Ottawa Senators. |

He was slow at 23 years old, I can't imagine how slow he's going to be at 33 years old. |

Imac thinks there are many teams thinking they could make it far in the playoffs this year. So prices could be hefty this year.

I like Greenway. I am sure PA has these types in mind so doesn't matter what I want.

Probably being pushed by his father. Cody is the Michael Jackson of the NHL.

The bubble teams are all stacked up so they may buy but not sell. So demand will be up for players like Monohan. Even the Sens are not looking for futures and want roster players . |

Feel as if the cheap version at the time was Joshua.
Now if they can find the slightly better version. |

Joshua has put up way better numbers than Greenway this season. Next goal he scores will tie Greenway's career season high of 12. We already have the better version. |

lol so much opportunity in O&G in Alberta this year. Get in while you can!! - LordHumungous
Are you sure? I thought Alberta’s converting to nuclear energy. Aren’t they teaming up with Ontario to build their first plant?

Seems like a good target, 26 years old and a cost controlled contract at five more years at 5.25 million, chips in offensively as well. Seems like a bigger, younger, Bo Horvat with a good contract. - Pacificgem
He would be a great add but Minny won’t have any interest in trading that contract. |

Straight up? Sure, but if it costs the Canucks anything more than Kuz, I hope it doesn’t happen. - bloatedmosquito
The Canucks would be absurd to not offer Kuzmenko plus. Of guentz was made available he could make the Canucks a contender |

I would rather try to pry Eriksson Ek out of Minny and overpay for it with picks, than trade for Guentzel and pony up $$ for his next contract. |

News flash. The Canucks are now considered a contender.
The trade talk is what will put them over the top. |

Oh, I wasn't saying that Greenway is the better version. More like Kane, Wilson, Foligno (Marcus), |

From Dayal via the Athletic on teams cap situations for next year. This is based off the cap going up 4 mill.... a good reason to not break the bank for a pending UFA this deadline in the hopes to re-sign them.
Vancouver Canucks
Projected cap space: $33.3 million (assuming Tucker Poolman on LTIR)
Notable UFAs unsigned: Nikita Zadorov, Teddy Blueger, Dakota Joshua, Ian Cole, Casey DeSmith, Tyler Myers
Notable RFAs unsigned: Elias Pettersson, Filip Hronek
Dead cap space: Oliver Ekman-Larsson buyout ($2.34 million)
Pettersson and Hronek require massive pay raises, which makes Vancouver’s cap situation way tighter than the $33.3 million figure indicates.
Pettersson’s cap hit number will probably start with a 12 after William Nylander’s $11.5 million AAV extension. Hronek’s on pace for 67 points, logging top pair minutes and has strong leverage because of his arbitration rights. Pettersson and Hronek could combine for roughly $20 million.
Vancouver would be left with $13.3 million in that scenario and still need to replace two-thirds of its outstanding third line (Joshua and Blueger), three defensemen, including at least one top-four-caliber player (Zadorov, Cole, Myers) and a backup goalie (DeSmith). And that’s before you even talk about the Canucks’ desire to add another top-six forward.
Vancouver can’t afford to bring all of its key, high-performing UFAs back and will probably need to find a way to clear struggling winger Andrei Kuzmenko’s $5.5 million cap hit before next season.
Things to worry more about in the off-season. I'm sure they've mapped out all the possibilities. |

To be exact a 5% increase is 4.175m & 33.528333m cap. Next is he uses CF put into words so nothing new here. |

There have been rumblings but not too sure what's happening there. More focused on getting some return on my investments. |
