Another name that I came across as a potential trade target for the Canucks (with absolutely no credibility or basis to it, just something to discuss) is Joel Eriksson Ek. Another Swede, top 6 center, signed to good contract. With Minny stumbling down the standings, and their big buyouts hitting next season, would he be worth taking a run at/would Minny consider parting with their top center? - NewYorkNuck
Seems like a good target, 26 years old and a cost controlled contract at five more years at 5.25 million, chips in offensively as well. Seems like a bigger, younger, Bo Horvat with a good contract. |

I was just reading that Guerin believes they can make the playoffs, so if they are still in the mix by the deadline I doubt they move him. - Marwood
Ya, read something like that too. Doubtful they'd move on from him either way, but would be a nice add (though pricey). |

I definitely understand some burnout, but the also we were very good for a decade and I genuinely think winning that much without winning the big one isn’t actually crap at all. But I guess that’s just me! Here’s to hoping these guys that keep making fairly saavy risks whether complainers on here like it or not!! - neem55
Although disappointing we lost in the finals 3x this cup or nothing isn’t my thing. I enjoyed the great seasons others make it do or die & that’s their problem. |

Don't need anymore of you Americans here anyways, bad enough putting up with the non-stop verbal diarrhea from the many Albertans here. - Reubenkincade

Would be a costly add, but a good cost controlled player for sure.
I’m leaning more towards Adam Henrique as a quality player that wouldn’t break the bank.
If we’re going to go all in, I want it to be for a stud. Eg no one on the Flames.
Otherwise I’d go tier 2 player like Henrique.

If we’re going all in I’d pay the price for a top player that will be staying. Not interested in a rental rather think longer term. |

You need to cherry pick from 12000 hours of NHL game time? - manvanfan
I asked for some recent film on his hockey playing, you should try politics the way you non answer a question. |

Tampa's stayed at the top/in contention by "overpaying" for cost-controlled players from other teams. Not saying it'd work for this team, or that we know this level of play is sustainable, but it's another path that could potentially work. |

That was started on Twitter and grew legs. Like Beddard's mom. I wouldn't follow that one too hard. |

Typical non answer again, here Ed I will help you out with the proper way to answer (leading Ed the talking horse to water).
Sorry no Makita I cannot produce any recent film on Jenner because there isn’t any, the guy is injured…again, that’s why I have him so coveted as a player, he can play 20 get injured come back play 22 get injured come back, why wouldn’t you absolutely covet that style of player. |

There's discussions but who really changes anyones minds. Why would I spend the time answering when Makita had alluded to his injury history many times without talking about any other part of Jenner's game. Obviously he has made up his mind and as I said there is 12000 hours of him playing in the NHL but he wants "recent" because he is injured.
So what kind of discussion was that going to be? |

So why not just admit that point and then make a case why you think he would be beneficial to the Canucks current line up. |

It helps your organization stay relevant longer, but, even if you draft lights-out you're still going to have to face a rebuild at some point. In the past nine full seasons Tampa's went to the finals four times, starting in 2015, and they're still a competitive team. That's a good run!! The Canucks were good for about six and half years and then fell off a cliff.
Tampa experienced a lot of losing before they got good though, a common theme among good teams. |

Straight up? Sure, but if it costs the Canucks anything more than Kuz, I hope it doesn’t happen.

When you've never won the Cup you tend to complain about everything because everything usually turns to crap for the Canucks LOL. Yes it cost a first and second round pick but the benefit has been huge, the Canucks are a legit contending team again....finally. Helps that they still had a another first round pick and they got out from having to sign Horvat to a contract that would've bit them in the ass. - Pacificgem

I had seen how it started and it was just a poster saying here's a name I would like to target. He repeated it three times and others hopped on board.
Today NHL Rumors threw the name Lindholm out there. As you know it's a bunch of Twitter people throwing out their wish list.

In for 20 out for 20 isn't exactly accurate. The guy has missed maybe 20% of the games over his entire career.
Wins face-offs, physical, plays both directions well. Signed to a good deal. Plays hard. Quality PK numbers.
IMO, I don't think he is a good 2C, If I had to put him there, I'd put him near the bottom of 2C in the league.
He is a player that is going to cost too much or too little. If you know what I mean. |
