Why would Vancouver make that trade? Boeser has 8 more goals and the same number of points as Guentzel, doesn't need a big-ticket UFA deal next season, and is more than two years younger than him. The Canucks aren't paying a good prospect and a 1st round pick to mess with their chemistry and maybe get....the same results?

Jim Rutherford likes to tinker. If he can get jake to sign long term, i think he would do it. Example: He traded away gustavsson, ian cole, a 1st and a 3rd to ottawa, vegas got ryan reaves and a 4th. Pittsburgh got Brassard, a 3rd round pick and tobias lindberg. I would not say the pens won that trade. Example 2: 1st round pick, Calen addison, and galchenyuk for jason zucker. I would not say the pens won that trade either. Zucker was hurt more than not. Everyone knew he wanted brassard and everyone knew he wanted zucker. I just dont think rutherford goes thru the deadline w/o some changes.
