This was about Hronek trade last year?
Maaaannny folks on here were against that trade as well, especially when he was injured.
Just saying. - dbot
The timing of it is what got me and I didn’t know much about Hronik. |

Take your word for it.
Too bad they didn’t win much last year after making that trade tho.

Well that's because Hronek only played in 4 games. |

Or because management shut him down to focus on the next season.
You might call it a win later approach |

Canucks should trade Silovs as part of the win now strategy this year. Guy has been struggling. |

I wouldn’t be opposed to going all in at this point.
Toronto Raptors approach and try and get a stud to put them over the top.
I don’t however like the idea of an expensive rental like Guentzel or Lindholm (neither are game changers imo).
If we’re not going all in for whatever reason, then I’d be in favour of grabbing a Henrique or a Monahan type player and take our chances. |

Rutherford said sometimes it works out and other times it doesn't. I don't know if I'm pro cost of getting something like Guentzel or Lindholm honestly. Cupboards are a bit bare for that I'd say. At the same time, the cupboards aren't going to fill up with 1 pick late in the first round and no 2nd.
I wouldn't mind seeing who does and doesn't show up with the current roster in the playoffs. Top 5 in the league already, the roster can't be all bad. |

They start to stucco the last suite on Monday, should take a week then I’ll chase them to the rooftop to finish the walls up there. Not sure how much more we’ll do this year as it’s tough having workers all the time. Can’t leave them alone for too long or things go bad.

All we know is they will make an impactful trade of some kind. The issue is moving cap space and that is on how low they are willing to sell on Kuz.
Would the Yotes go early on him trying to make playoffs and send one of their many picks? Then Canucks can try to add what they want from someone else. |

The question is do you believe me now that is a "win now" trade? - manvanfan
That was just the beginning of building a contender after some unravelling of the inherited mess. Our vision & PA’s we’re either similar or not but it had to start. |

It was a trade made to improve the team.
If trading picks for a roster player that improved the team means it’s “win now” then, sure.
I think the term “win now” is subjective and debatable, as are most of theirs buzz words.
Also. Who did or didn’t believe you?? - dbot
In the Canucks case ‘win now’ meant stopping losing left right & centre & especially in the fashion they threw away points. |

Timing caught the hockey world totally off guard including us. Best thing was nobody saw it coming & better than months of years needing to do something proactive instead of JB’s throwing money around at darts missing the board. |

No rush while developing him & other tenders. Only a back-up spot open for many years to come while Demko is in his prime. |

Canucks could be getting a boost in March from Lekkerimaki coming over. His team sucks and are unlikely to make playoffs. March 12th in their last game. |

Cannot see anything but going all in the thing to do. This turnaround season is strike while your hot.
Going for say Guentzel is both ballsy & expensive. If any plan to resign then there has to be lots of other roster work to do but that’s for a later date. If Lindholm who is intriguing it’s also about cost. A 2C be ideal imo. Then again if resigning him is the same as Guentzel for other work needed done.
Can PA go all in & shuffle the cards on the cap so it’s not only a 1 season cost of assets somehow? |

Quite possible a series of transaction happen if there is any big trade. The obvious targets might come here but PA is pretty tight lipped & could surprise us in another way altogether. |
