Canucks could be getting a boost in March from Lekkerimaki coming over. His team sucks and are unlikely to make playoffs. March 12th in their last game. - manvanfan
He is going to Abby but never was stated he couldn’t or wouldn’t be a PO call up. That said I see a C being the biggest TDL get. |

Going to have to pay to keep a decent back up. DeSmith will get a raise. - manvanfan
Yup & my guess is still about the same. He’s in a great situation on a good team & can walk if want’s to pass up on staying. |

The late 1st won’t be missed for the right player picked up. Like some in here said go for it 👍 - Nighthawk
Not that big of a deal the way they have been adding college/CHL free agents as well last couple years. |

It was a trade made to improve the team.
If trading picks for a roster player that improved the team means it’s “win now” then, sure.
I think the term “win now” is subjective and debatable, as are most of theirs buzz words.
Also. Who did or didn’t believe you?? - dbot
When they made the trade Canucks were so far away from being a contender. It looked like at the time they were better to tear the team down and start over so yes people had a right to be upset with the Hronek trade.
I don't know if I am a fan of him wanting over 8 mil. He is a seven mil player in my opinion and I have seen a few stories saying Canucks might not want to give him 8 mil.
Also keep in mind every trade Canucks make some hate and some love, it is not a big deal. How many people hated the JTM trade. That is why we watch the game and not sitting on the other side setting up the acftual team.

You guys got this one. Would love nothing more than to see the Leafs miss the playoffs. - Oildrum
Much like the Oilers have just done the Leafs are gonna get themselves back in the PO mix. They won't miss. |

Need to draft for position more now eg C’s the biggest hole. Can always keep working the roster & cap & fill with UFA’s. |

They will make it because most of the teams in their division suck. If they were in our division they would not make the playoffs.

The Hronek negotiations will be interesting being a UFA. I think both sides will grind out a fair contract. Expecting long term to keep the AAV down. Maybe 8/7.75m prefer 7.5m |

My UFA list would be first and foremost Zadorov. He has taken the team to a higher standard with his size and swagger. He has been here for a dozen or so games and he calls this his Barn. Talk about a guy fitting in seamlessly.
Next would be Joshua. Never thought I would say this but Myers would be my third call back.

That's pretty big news for the BCHL and AJHL. Smart moves. - manvanfan
Smart move. Should strengthen the league once they rename it. WCJHL, here comes Saskatchewan. |

Zadorov can change a game with a big hit or a fight. He’s a great asset to have. Eventually he’ll wear out his welcome, it seems to be a common theme. |

Unfortunately 7.5M for a player of his calibre will be an outdated price in a year or two. On a longer term deal teams are going to be paying extra for first couple years. |

I’m onboard with that & see Cole moving on probably. Bleuger I’d like back too bad he wasn’t 2 years instead of Suter the ways his line is going. Splitting hairs a bit. Best thing about winning & Vancouver being a great place to live it bodes well for getting players back or new ones. |

Totally agree & a higher profile to develop more kids closer to their home. States like Washington & Oregon etc might be more into getting young kids into hockey. |

Idk about that he’s found a great fit with Hughes & Vancouver & winning teams can use that to leverage a bit. Smart players settle in when in a great situation & should appreciate it. |

I lived in Kits for many years, 5th and Yew, while my wife went to UBC. Vancouver has so much more to offer than Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg etc…….

It actually happened with every team he’s played for. After 2-3 years he’s gone.

I gotcha but players mature sooner or later & wanna settle in. We’ll see.
4-5/4m my offer to start it off. |
