This 100000% this. There were no issues with this coaching last year. It was all get better players and get better goalies. (see Bryson/Stillman/UPl/Levi)
8 players career years. Same coaching.
Maybe just maybe the year they had last year was unsustainable and they severely overachieved. - ImThatGuy
Get better players to upgrade at obvious positions of need and play style. Prepare for the inevitable regression to the mean. Adams did nothing to help them and unfortunately the regression is beyond just the mean
One thing for certain this year that didn't happen much if at all last year is how quickly they quit on the coaches and themselves. Alot of the times not even showing up to start with, that's on the coaching staff
I sure hope everyone remembers how this team almost never quit last year
It was something that made them what they were. Sitting here talking about how coaching can't make players go to the net simply means your coaches aren't good enough
Thats what coaching is for, to make players better versions of themselves

Roenek is correct, they are mentally soft or slow, can't quite determine which one. Maybe the Staff is Slow and the Players are Mentally and Physically Soft.

21/22 Season:
Record: 32-39-11 (75 points), Finished 5th in NHL Atlantic Division (Schedule and Results)
Coach: Don Granato (32-39-11)
Captain:
Primary Arena: KeyBank Center
Goals For: 232 (22nd of 32), Goals Against: 290 (25th of 32)
SRS: -0.69 (26th of 32), SOS: 0.02 (12th of 32)
The numbers imply this season is more aligned with this groups ability, making last season - a career year for multiple players. While it was nice, it still wasn't enough to get the team into the playoffs.
This regression is what the numbers implied, hope is what the GM built on. The coach, who shouldn't be there to begin with, was doomed from the get go.
Again coaching probably needs to change and I’m on board.
Thompson Tuch and Skinner all had anomalies of seasons.
Any regression on that was going to cause this to come crashing back to earth.
It’s worse than I anticipated though. - ImThatGuy
Definitely worse than anticipated. Most of the off-season fears have struck, but they were fears for good reason and KA's do-nothing summer was alarming.
Started with Quinn's injury. Couldn't get anything for VO. Problem solved, VO will step up.
Was wondering if maybe I lost my mind. A Rangers fan made a Trade proposal on CapFriendly and I Accepted and Fitz swooped in and put me in my place saying I didn't know WTF I was talking about. I feel better, thought I turned soft.

I can't believe he hasn't gotten kicked off that site yet.

It's pretty wild how much off the offseason banter has come true. It really actually sucks and wish it was wrong.

It was hard to get lower or smell more than The Stank himself, and un-cuffing a lot of frustrated players was a tactic anyone could have tried.
It was the opposite approach with the opposite result. Yeah, Skinner was overpaid but he wasn’t a 10 goal scorer and we all knew that Krueger coached like he had Brodeur in net so him getting back to 30/30 was expected…
But he never played close to a .ppg let alone at more than a .ppg. I love Skinner. I have been a fan of his since his rookie season. But he’s a 35/35 type of guy at most and I know you all hate the comparison but he is that Briere-type of player. And his career stats look very similar.
When we signed him, we had coach Housley and franchise center Jack Eichel. We needed Skinner for that team. And then immediately fired the coach and GM and traded that franchise center. We didn’t need Jeff Skinner after that.
It sucks. And last year, he was the perfect example as to why we shouldn’t have expected any player to run it back this year. It was clearly an anomaly and even this clueless coaching staff knew as much and tried to employ a system - which is why they are employed in the first place.
There’s a like 7 of us who knew by July 5th we were in trouble and surprisingly, we several are among the only people still talking on here, even if we stopped watching and caring about this season.
True fans know this team like few people know their lovers. We love them so much, we see the flaws and try to work to improve those shortcomings, while also trying to be better ourselves and recognize our own shortcomings. Honest people are rare in life. You can deny truth but it’s plain to see, some of us accept it and work with it, others build a shelter around the truth and act like it isn’t there but still do their best to keep it safe. Even if the truth is that the truth needs work, too, a few of us understand that and try to work towards the truth, because the truth is, if you’re still reading this, then screw you - You just got Kevyn Adams’d beotch. Thanks for your time now watch me on my boat to Fųckallville while you suffer in waiting with that fat mess Casey Mittelstadt.
He's here, there's a couple that fit the description. Just haven't locked in yet. Stuff he says over on CapFriendly, it's obvious he's been here. - Buff36
