Yeah not definitive yet but it’s being reported from multiple outlets. Guy wants to win the cup and probably feels the Avs offer the best shot. I’m disappointed would love to have him back but also can’t blame him. - Cptmjl
You really cannot blame Parise. Avs have a great shot at the Cup.

Also, Islanders kinda moved on from him first signing Gauthier. If he does go there I'll be pulling for him...unless by some magical stroke of luck the Islanders are playing them in the Cup finals |

It may be better in the long run to see what Gauthier can do. Avs better hope the Islanders do not make the Cup.

Transactions: Ken Appleby and Daylan Kuefler have been reassigned to Worcester (ECHL). Trevor Cosgrove has been returned on loan to Worcester.
Damn, Ken Appleby goes from the NHL straight to the Coast |

I forgot that site was even still up. It used to be great back in the day but they got ruined when they were bought by some big corporate company.
I stopped reading in the second paragraph when it said " Yep, that Patrick Roy, the one who wasn’t anything short of a disaster in Colorado". He won a (frank)ing Jack Adams |

It’s been a hate site since it’s “come back”. They’ll say just about anything to get clicks. They usually dive head first into the political realm for exactly that reason. |

No morning skate for #Isles. Based on lines Wed and our Roy chat, would expect this tonight vs. #GoHabsGo:
Lee-Horvat-Barzal
Engvall-Nelson-Palmieri
Holmstrom-Pageau-Gauthier
Martin-MacLean-Clutterbuck
Romanov-Dobson
Pelech-Aho
Bolduc-Mayfield
Varlamov
Sorokin
Seems like maybe Reilly is not Roy's favorite defenseman |

I really don't know deadspin. I did get a laugh out of the whole article. Just thought I'd post it because it was a different view from what I have been reading. |

He's not mine either. He does show occasional offensive talent, but it doesn't compensate for his defensive lapses. His -10 pluis/minus isn't accidental.
Not that Aho, Bolduc and Mayfield are great. With the Islanders, you pick your poison among the d-men. |

She must have felt like an idiot after the Islanders swept the Penguins in the first round that season. She had the Penguins as one of her favorites to play for the Cup.

It's tough choices right now. I think Buldoc has more of an upside than Aho and he needs to play to get comfortable.

A little bit of his "luster" (as much luster as a bottom-pairing waiver pickup could have, anyway) has certainly worn off. Bolduc has gotten a lot better too. Kinda six of one, half a dozen of the other at this point |

Reilly at least skates with it and puts pucks on net, also doesn't take at least 1 stupid penalty per game |

Should rotate the 4 of them until Pulock comes back. I think Bertuzzo has played his last game as an islander. Unless he resigns. I have a feeling Lou is gonna trade for a d man before deadline. |

Could be. I suspect Lou will give Roy a few weeks to right the ship. This year's trade deadline is March 8. If the Isles are playing well and competing for a playoff spot, then I agree with you, Lou will look for an additional d-man. If not, then I can only hope he wouldn't. |

He really talked up Bolduc after the Dallas game. And Reilly didn't exactly give him any reason to keep him in the line up.

Meaningless stat
Seriously Every defenseman on this team has looked like shat at points throughout games this year. The whole team in every zone have ignored (or at least looks like it) defensive responsibility. This is on the forwards as well. Unfortunately the dmen take the brunt of the criticism but it’s on the whole team to be defensively responsible in every zone.
Solid Team Defensive structure starts in the offensive zone.
In a short time it’s gotten better under Roy.
There is still a lot of work to do to cut down the defensive mistakes by this team. I’m optimistic they will tighten up that side of the game. If they do they will be a much better team over all and should make the POs.
Only time will tell. |
