It’s actually fuking stupid but whatever floats Lou’s boat. He seems to think it matters. I think it has the opposite effect on attracting players. |

Where are the clippers Lou!
I love it but I’m an old school guy. You youngsters didn’t grow up with that. |

Holy poop it’s happening. Oh my god he’s back with vengeance. Nooooo. Not Patty. That’s the one guy I didn’t want to see. The Islanders might win the cup. This is a scary hire.

I actually like it but agree with you at the same time. I think it may have a negative effect with signing some players so would rather it weren’t a rule. I’m not losing sleep if some dude has a beard or not. |

I dont like the filthy Burns beard, but letting kids have some autonomy to grow a moustache isn't going to have a bearing on how well they play or change their focus. I actually hate when players wear goofy high numbers that an offensive line man would have, but I get it. |

These kids work their arses off their entire life to get to this level. They’ve earned the right to do whatever the (frank) they choose imo. They don’t need some old geezer telling them what to do. With that said I totally understand what Lou is doing that it’s about the team and not the individual. I do believe it definitely has a negative effect on some UFA’s but I get it. |

Biz not taking it well. - PeteM
Apparently not. Hope he’s right. When I was thinking about possible coaches Roy never even crossed my mind. Now that he’s here I’m not sure why it never did. He’s a perfect fit imo. Guy has a lot to prove at this level after being out for so long and is about as no nonsense as you can get which is exactly what this team needs right now. I’m feeling good about this hire and think the team will respond.
I’m sure mission number 1 for him will be to instill some structure which this team has lacked the entire season. |

Patrick Roy immediately making his presence felt, stopping drills, correcting, loudly making points. Obviously excited to be pushing up his sleeves and getting into it with #Isles .
Side note: It's weird seeing him hold a regular hockey stick, not a goalie stick. |

Thought Adam's comments about Patrick maybe taking over for Lou were interesting. I do not like the idea of trading more #1 picks. - ses111
Funny I thought the same thing about Roy taking over as GM at some point |

Wonder if Roy brings in his own assistants?
You would think the goalie coaches would stay because goaltending has been pretty strong, but Roy may want to bring in his group.
It will be interesting to see. |

I can see Roy taking over as GM at some point. I was hoping to see Lou and Barry finishing out their contracts and Barry taking over as GM. Let's see how things play out with Patrick. |

Just wrapped up lengthy first-day scrum with #Isles new coach Patrick Roy. A lot to unwrap. He said he agrees with Lou Lamoriello and really likes this team's personnel. Obviously, tons of room for improvement. He says he trusts the analytics that show Isles at bottom of league.
Have to understand there is a problem to be able to fix it no matter how obvious. |

Defense has to be solid without the offense falling apart. Islanders have to be solid in both areas. I would switch Holmstrom and Pierre for now and maybe call up Iskhakov soon.
