I'm worried about Pelech. His game has not been the same since he got concussed by Borruzzo in December of 22. Took him a long time to get back and he is not the same player. Now it sure seems like another concussion. I'm not liking the possibilities.
And as for Gallagher. When the Habs come to town in April? The Islanders better call up or sign the biggest goon they can for the game. Make Gallagher pay a price that the NHL sure didn't. And if they just dress the normal squad , one of then better take care of it. I will lose my mind and respect for this team if they don't. Sorry just a little ticked with this whole season. |

Only in this stupid sport can a guy wearing a helmet sponsored by a betting site get suspended for “gambling” get 8X the suspension of a guy who jumped up and threw a blatant elbow at another player’s head. |

Parise was a good Islanders, but he cannot help the current team enough and especially with this defense and now Pelech being out.

Disagree with you there. Instantly helps our PK and our bottom 6 which helps our defense. |

I don't blame him for going to the avs, probably his last shot at a cup and they have a much better chance than the isles. |

Parise not coming back says a lot about Islanders PO chance.
And now we get to see Reilly Bolduc and Aho. |

Yeah it very well may take some time for Roy and the team to integrate. How long that takes will decide whether we make the playoffs or not. While also factoring in injuries and the lineup Roy has to work with even if healthy can’t really blame Parise for looking elsewhere. |

And what happens if Wahlstrom doesn’t get a point Saturday night? He’s back up in the press box? Yet, guys like Engvall, Mayfield, Martin etc just play through their rather egregious mistakes? It’s a bunch of bullpoop and I’ll root for Wahlstrom wherever he ends up. He has one thing on this team barely anyone else has, will to score. And, yeah, you can’t just plug him in here and there and expect him to prosper. - potvin05
I don’t think Wally needs to get a point. He needs to be hard on the puck and have a strong game away from the puck. After Engvall’s poop game if Wally can do that he should be able to get a few games in a row to prove himself.
If Engvall is in the line up I would be a bit surprised. Roy typically kept his players accountable and Engvall needs to sit as we all said. |

Montreal’s Brendan Gallagher has been suspended for five games for an illegal check to the head on NY Islanders’ Adam Pelech.
Terrible. - keaner17
Wow I thought most first time offenders get 1 to 3 games which I thought this scumbag would get. I’m surprised he got 5 from a league that constantly disappoints in their length of suspensions especially on hits to the head.
I am not satisfied with the 5 game suspension however I am surprised he got 5.
I would have been happy with 10 games.

For what it's worth, Varlamov exited the morning skate ice a couple of minutes prior to Sorokin

Looks like Varlamov getting his second straight start. |

Not eligible. He's Canadian.
But yeah, he articulated very well the problem with only giving Gallagher a 5-game suspension. Hickey gets my vote to replace that arsehole, Colin Campbell, as the NHL Director of Hockey Operations. |

Blame the NHLPA. They could protect their players, but they won't. They haven't in years. |

I do, sOrOkin gets a long break which is well deserved.
Very surprised Engvall is in. Is another forward injured? |
