Well, if you truly believe in right now vs. eventually, then its a no brainer trading for a guy that only a year ago was 1 goal away from 40. - aecliptic
Ok you pulled my leg lol
My thinking would be since Kakko and Goodrow and Kuzmenko are quite close in money…send them two and +s one way or the other (prospects and picks) and they’d have a framework of a deal. Thing is Kuzmenkos value is probably in the poopter at the moment since he doesn’t seem to fit with Tocchet at all. So they may be forced to trade him. He’s the kind of guy to strike and buy low on imo. He’s definitely a goal scorer if nothing else
I do like it mostly because maybe him and Panarin could have chemistry with the Russian thing. Then you move Laf to the Kreider Zib line OR Cuylle Zib and laf
Go ahead and hate on me everyone 🙄 |

Maybe that could be the cost of doing business... we get Kuzmenko, they get Othmann but they have to take Goodrow as well. |

No I wouldn’t go that far
Goodrow could actually help them for this year so they may look at him as a positive (intangibles)
I’d send a first tho, maybe get Aman back (he’s their 4C I believe)
So Kuz and Aman for Kakko goodrow and a first. I’m inclined to say yes to that. A lot of it because I’m not sure how much more Kakko I can take. I may regret saying that, but he frustrates the absolute hell out of me |

Im not dismissing it at all, which is why Goodrow has to go. However, Im not convinced that Chytil comes back close to what he was at the beginning of the year. I expect him to be passive and tentative, and bottom line it will hurt us overall. |

I’m with you on the passiveness. Definitely a concern. Like playing not to get hurt |

I’m saying it makes any major trade not including goodrow going the other way incredibly unlikely. It makes kuzmenko impossible. |

Not at all, if we can convince VAN to retain 500k (which could be an expensive proposition) or maybe have a 3rd party involved and ask them for retention... its very much possible. Most playoff teams have hardly any cap space, so I fully expect there to be a lot of 3rd team/retention stuff going on. The caveat is Kuzmenko still has one more year to go on his contract.
But yes, as you said, Goodrow HAS to be gone for it to work. |

Kuzmenko has been healthy scratched 3 or 4 times this season. His value isn’t soaring by any means. I love how people assume things
He and the coach flat out don’t get along, it’s been well documented |

Why would they need retainment? It’s a difference of 241k. Rangers could retain a bit on Goodrow actually |

His issues are also defensively, which how well will that play in NY? |

If the rangers value him who’s to say another team doesn’t? They get Kakko as their door prize 😂
And they could buy him out. They’re contenders, he’s good in the room remember? He has two cups. I think they’d actually want him as a 4th line guy. We just need a sniper, they have an unhappy one
Nothing is possible with you I get it, but I don’t think that way until I shouldn’t. If the TDL passes and he’s still here, ok I’ll surrender that flag |
